CLARIS ACQUIRES WORLDWIDE LICENSING RIGHTS FOR NEW ELECTRONIC MAIL MANAGER

Expands strong Claris business solutions capability by providing email
management software for the Internet and four online services

SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- March 27, 1995 -- Claris Corporation today announced
that it has obtained worldwide, exclusive licensing rights for a newly
developed electronic mail management application code-named Emailer.
Developed by Fog City Software, Inc., this next-generation electronic mail
manager sends and receives email on the Internet as well as online
services including CompuServe, America Online, eWorld and RadioMail.

"As the number of people accessing the Internet and online services
increases, we believe that email addresses will become more common than
fax numbers," said Guy Kawasaki, president of Fog City Software, Inc. "We
developed Emailer for anyone with an email address who wants to tap the
full potential of electronic messaging and communicate with subscribers
from a variety of online services effortlessly."

Emailer is the first Macintosh application to provide automatic email
support for individual subscribers of the Internet and more than one
online service. Users of Emailer can send messages and enclosures to
subscribers of any online service or anyone with an Internet address.
Emailer creates and maintains a database of email addresses for all
recipients. It can store more than one email address for individuals as
well as a group address for multiple recipients. Files can be easily sent
as enclosures using drag-and-drop techniques. Emailer automatically
compresses and decompresses enclosures and can send enclosures from one
online service to another.

"Every day, millions of people worldwide log onto online services to find
information and send messages electronically," said Daniel L. Eilers,
president and CEO of Claris Corporation. "We believe Emailer is an
excellent tool for providing these users with a state-of-the-art
capability for helping to send and receive electronic messages."

Scheduled for availability in Summer 1995, Emailer will be available for
both 68K- and Power Macintosh-based systems. Pricing has not been
determined.

Fog City Software, Inc. was founded to develop software solutions that
extend the power of electronic mail by providing next-generation
communications tools.

Claris Corporation is a leading worldwide vendor of Windows and Macintosh
applications for business, education and home, and is a subsidiary of
Apple Computer, Inc., with headquarters in Santa Clara, Calif.
