CeBIT '95 DRAWS 3 QUARTERS OF A MILLION ATTENDEES
10th anniversary show breaks records in other areas, too

(PRINCETON, NJ)--By 6 p.m. March 15, 750,000 distributors, resellers, and
other business-persons from around the world had walked thousands of
aisles, surveying, sampling and signing contracts for the new products on
display at the world's largest information and communications trade show.

In its tenth year since spinning off in 1986 from the Hannover Industry
Fair, CeBIT Hannover '95 (March 8 - 15; Hannover, Germany) closed its
doors on another record-breaking event that featured office automation,
computer, and communications products from 6,167 exhibitors from 59
countries.

American exhibitors numbered 478, with more than 300 of those participating
in the eight USA Pavilions. American visitors totaled 4,500. Other
countries with high levels of participation included Taiwan, with 289
exhibitors, Great Britain with 266, Australia (the show's Partner Country)
with 170, and France with 107. The number of visitors from outside Germany
rose slightly to 107,000. The main attractions for visitors were products
in the information technology, software and services, and
telecommunications sectors.

For American exhibitors, CeBIT represented an opportunity to reach
distributors and other buyers from not only Germany but from the rest of
Europe and the world. "CeBIT is a definite destination if you want to
become a factor overseas," said Mark Bertman, chief operating officer of
Keep It Simple Technology of Gaithersburg, Maryland. "It offers an
outstanding opportunity."

"Attendance at this show is a must for sales in Europe," said Lou Williams,
vice president of marketing for AdvanSys of San Jose, California.

CeBIT '96 will take place in Hannover, Germany, March 14 - 20, with a new
seven-day schedule. Reflecting the upbeat business mood and accounts of
high levels of sales at the show, 89 percent of this year's exhibitors
have already indicated they plan to return next year.
