Apple Career Resource Center to sponsor half-day on campus events for

Demonstrations

CUPERTINO, California--April 19, 1995--Apple Computer, Inc. is sending out
an invitation for young women to discover and explore on-line information
and culture. April 27 is "Take Your Daughters to Work Day" and Apple's
commercial on-line service, eWorld, will host special "Take Your Daughters
On-line" events, in conjunction with other Apple Computer activities.
On-line festivities will include a collection of forums, discussions, and
events tailored for young women and should provide them with a comfortable
and convenient introduction to on-line services.

"Historically, on-line services have been more of a men's club than a
community center that's open to everybody--but we aim to change all that,"
said Peter Friedman, vice president and general manager of Apple's eWorld.
"We believe on-line services should be comfortable and meaningful for men
and women, adults and seniors, teenagers and children alike. We hope Take
Your Daughter Online demonstrates to young women and their parents that
there's a place for young women in the front ranks of the on-line
revolution. And that on-line exploration can be a family outing."

Special events in eWorld's Community Center include:
-- 13-year-old eWorld Host Suzy Klein will lead an inspirational
session for on-line peers, sharing her own entrepreneurial
successes with eWorld.
April 27, at 1:00 p.m. PDT.

-- Popular TV show "ER" doesn't reveal much about the struggles of
female care takers in a male dominated field. Dr. Carol Currier,
MD, a respected medical director from Medex emergency walk in
clinic will give real life descriptions about her experiences. The
opinions of men, women and the good doctor, should enliven this
forum.
April 27, at 4:30 p.m. PDT

-- Janis Bell, an eWorld host, will lead a discussion of how to
involve children in a home-based business.
April 27, at 6:30 p.m. PDT.

eWorld will be offering a special "Online Information Pack for Young
Women," which will include guidelines regarding on-line behavior and
etiquette. The information pack is designed to make first-time users feel
at home. Users can view it in eWorld's Community Center and also download
it onto his or her computer.

In Addition to eWorld events, the Apple Career Resource Center is
sponsoring a half-day on campus event for children of Apple employees.
Adolescent and pre-teen children will be exposed to the working world.
"Kids can see some real life options about what they might want to be when
they grow up," said, Paul Proett, manager of employee services, who adds,
"It's a nice opportunity for children to spend time with their mom or dad
on the job." When children are not with their parents on the job, they
will be occupied by guest speakers, small group sessions, department
tours, product demonstrations and a group lunch.

Take Your Daughter On-line joins a growing collection of events and
services on eWorld designed for women and children, including Job Search
with Lee Hecht Harrison, African American Women's Forum, the Youth Central
community, and the Educator Connection. eWorld users can find activities
for Take Your Daughter On-line in a number of areas on eWorld, including
Ivy League Sports, Working Solo, eWorld Education Connection, Blackberry
Creek and User Group Connection.
