Solectek's AIRLAN Product Line Receives LAN Magazine's Products of the Year
Recognition for 1995

San Diego, CA -- April 3, 1995 -- Solectek Corporation is pleased to
announce that its AIRLAN wireless products have been awarded Products of
the Year by LAN Magazine in its April 1995 issue.

In its wireless networking column, the magazine says: "Solectek's AIRLAN
lineup comprises the broadest and most complete wireless suite on the
mobile market." The magazine also said that the radio technology needed
for reliable, untethered communications has matured, with standards likely
to be firmly established in the near future, and Solectek wireless with a
"respectable" data rate of 2 Mbps will be the one to select.

The article stated that a 25 square mile campus area network, which is
compatible with most major network operating systems, can be configured
using AIRLAN adapters, bridges, and access points.

Solectek products cited in the article that are capable of building the
infrastructure for this large area wireless network included
AIRLAN/Access, a wireless access point that provides a roaming cell of
50,000 square feet; and AIRLAN/Bridge Plus, a multiport wireless bridge
that links LAN segments up to three miles apart. Included on Solectek's
adapter team were AIRLAN/Internal, AIRLAN/PCMCIA, and AIRLAN/Parallel.

Solectek Corporation offers its full suite of wireless AIRLAN CAN (Campus
Area Networking) products throughout the United States, Canada and South
America. Solectek offers AIRLAN/PCMCIA ($699) and AIRLAN/Parallel ($699)
for portable computers, and AIRLAN/Internal ($699) for desktops. In 1994
Solectek began shipping AIRLAN/Access ($2,499) for roaming users,
AIRLAN/Bridge Plus ($3,499) and a range of short to long range AIRLAN
Antenna options. Solectek recently announced AIRLAN/Bridge Ultra, which is
a high speed, 25 mile, 2.4 GHz bridge available in both Ethernet ($4,999)
and Token Ring ($5,999) versions.

Solectek Corporation's AIRLAN product line uses secure and reliable spread
spectrum radio frequency technology direct-sequence to transmit network
data. The technology used in AIRLAN has been declared the de facto
standard by IDC, with 55% market share, and as a technology partner of
AT&T and Digital, is compatible with the Wavelan wireless products from
AT&T and Digital. AIRLAN CAN products enable PC/laptop users to roam and
communicate at full network speeds, and are available from an extensive
network of resellers and systems integrators, as well as major
distributors.
