applications.

WindowBase Activities:

DataBase Design

The Database Design Activity provides a user friendly environment where
databases and their tables can be created in both Open Access and XBase
file formats. Users can graphically draw, store, and retrieve one-to-many
and one-to-one default relations between tables.

Query Builder

The Query Builder Activity has the same basic look and feel as the Database
Design Activity. It allows most queries to be generated graphically
without even seeing the underlying SQL, although a separate window can be
visible showing the SQL text generated by the query. You may also type
into the SQL Window and update the graphically generated query. With a
touch of a shuttle button, results of the query can be displayed, or a
Form or Report can be generated.

Data Lister

The Data Lister Activity provides a spreadsheet (Grid) like display of the
results of a query. Data can be presented, added, modified, or provided to
other WindowBase activities and utilities. Data Lister also supports
split-screen display, similar to the familiar Browse facility found in
Open Access.

Form Design / Form Access

Automatic forms having one to many relationships can be created with the
click of a mouse. DDE and OLE can be utilized without a requirement to
write code. Coupled with a polished presentation look, Form Access makes
even the most basic default form useful immediately. Users are guided
through the process by the Form Assistant. Default form behavior can be
enhanced or changed using the easy-to-use and click tools or the Data
Access Scripting Language (DASL).

Report Design / Report Access

An intutive report writer creates presentation quality reports
automatically, as well as allowing users to further modify the report in a
visual way. The Report Assistant guides user through the design and layout
decision, prompting with hints if the user is uncertain.

Label Design

Once you have defined a query in Query Builder simply shuttle to the Label
Assistant, you can create pre-defined labels or setup your own labels to
meet your needs.

Programability

One of the key improvements to WindowBase 2.0 is the addition and
enhancement of the programming ability of the product. A high-level, event
driver Basic language allows user to easily modify the default behavior of
the system and the object in it. From this language, developers can access
other library routines. Example you can access the Windows API or your own
API routines.
