Subpanes/V Version 2.1 Adds Drag & Drop and Powerful Table Pane

San Jose, CA, September 19, 1994 - Objectshare Systems, Inc. announces
Subpanes/V Version 2.1, for Smalltalk/V Windows and Smalltalk/V Win32.
Subpanes/V offers a variety of user interface controls for use in
WindowBuilder Pro/V. WindowBuilder Pro/V from Objectshare Systems is a
tool that enables programmers to build user interfaces interactively and
rapidly. New in this version are drag and drop features and a table pane
that supports collections of objects. (The previous version of Subpanes/V
for V Win and V Win32 is 1.2.)

All the controls provided in Subpanes/V are subclasses of CPSubPane. They
support full object-oriented drag and drop. Users can drag and drop
complete objects. For example, a user could click on a string
representation of an object in a CPTablePane and drag it to a
CPBitmapPane. If the object dragged had a bitmap representation, the
bitmap would be displayed in the BitmapPane. Subclasses of Digitalk's
SubPane hierarchy are modified to support dropping string representations.
These features are totally new in Smalltalk/V Windows. (Smalltalk/V Win32
supports dragging and dropping string representations without
Subpanes/V.)

Improved in Subpanes/V 2.1 is CPTablePane. It's visible appearance is as
rows and columns. Programmers can specify that the underlying model is
collections of objects, a matrix of objects, or sparse storage where the
entries are stored in a dictionary. Capabilities include color control,
disabling, resizing and reordering of the columns and rows by the use of
the mouse, and more. The programmer specifies the protocol of the
underlying object in an editor to make the TablePane aware of the methods
for get and set, colors disabled, and so on. Subpanes/V 2.1 also includes
enhancements to the hierarchical list box and columnar list box.

Subpanes/V includes complete Smalltalk/V source code. There are no
royalties for distribution of end-user applications. Subpanes/V provides
complete portability of the controls between Windows, Win32, Windows NT,
and OS/2. It also includes complete documentation, and ninety days of free
technical support from Smalltalk experts at OSI by telephone, fax, and
CompuServe. It comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee. Subpanes/V is
provided in standalone and ENVY/Developer form for V/Win, and in
standalone, bindable DLLs, ENVY/Developer, and Team/V form for V/Win32.

Subpanes/V for V/Windows, for V/Win32, and for V/OS/2 cost $235 each and
are available for immediate shipment. Subpanes/V requires Smalltalk/V and
WindowBuilder Pro/V.
