NEW WINDOWS UTILITY SYNCHRONIZES FILES BETWEEN DESKTOP AND PORTABLE PCs

PowerSync Software Now Shipping from Linkpro; Suggested Retail Price -
$89.95

IRVINE, Calif., Aug. 1, 1994 -- Linkpro, Inc. of Irvine, Calif. is now
shipping PowerSync, a Windows utility that allows users to easily
synchronize their files between desktop and portable personal computers.

With a list price of $89.95 and available directly from Linkpro, PowerSync
automatically and quickly synchronizes the most current version of any
user-selected files and copies missing files from one PC to another.

According to Frank Reinhart, Linkpro president, the file synchronization
can be achieved via cable, over a modem, in a local area network, using a
docking station or floppy diskettes, or between two disk drives on the
same computer.

PowerSync, unlike competitive products, is installed only on the pC being
used and not on the one being accessed. It is compatible with most
connectivity, network and operating system environments, including Novell
or UNIX, that work with Windows 3.1 and allows access to remote disk
drives and shared files. The product utilizes whatever connectivity
software is already installed on the user's system.

Frank Reinhart, president of Linkpro, said PowerSync will display the
contents of user-selected disk drives. "All the user has to do is select
the directories containing the files to be synchronized and just click on
a button. The user can also analyze the selected directories to see the
differences. Only the differences will be synchronized in either case,
thus minimizing the amount of data to be transferred."

He added that a Safe Copy function ensures against the loss of data if a
connection is interrupted. Also, users can set the program to
automatically synchronize files by clicking on an Icon or by launching
from another program such as a Schedular.

"PowerSync is the perfect utility," says George F. Goley IV, author,
developer, consultant and founding partner of Micro Endeavors, Inc. of
Upper Darby, Pa. "It accomplishes a single, important task simply and
efficiently... work done on the road with files stored on the office
network is as simple (and safe!) as point and click."

According to Steve Levitt, of Atlas Computer in Alhambra, Calif., PowerSync
"is great for the network environment, easing the process of determining
the newer files. It makes applying upgrades and patches a snap, by
instantly determining which files need to be upgraded -- a task that used
to take hours."

For maximum effectiveness, PowerSync requires the following minimum PC
configuration: Microsoft Windows 3.1 or higher, DOS 5.0 or higher,
communications software for modem or network connection, a 386 or higher
IBM-compatible PC in enhanced mode, 4 megabytes or greater random access
memory (RAM) and a hard disk drive with at least 1MB of free storage
space.
