POWERSOFT ADDS LOTUS SCREENCAM FOR WINDOWS TO POWERSOFT INFOBASE CD-ROM

Powersoft Awarded Best Corporate Infobase by Folio Corporation

CONCORD, Mass., August 10, 1994 -- Powersoft Corp. today announced that it
has incorporated Lotus ScreenCam for Windows, a multimedia screen and
sound capture application, to the Powersoft Infobase CD-ROM technical
information database shipped with all PowerBuilder products. The Infobase
now includes Lotus ScreenCam segments on 25 technical subjects best
illustrated by "live" example, such as how to use the PowerBuilder
debugger and to perform object linking and embedding.

In addition, Folio Corporation has awarded Powersoft the 1994 Best
Corporate Infobase product based on innovative management of large amounts
of critical data. The award recognizes excellence in the development of
infobases as a strategic information management tool.

The addition of Lotus ScreenCam expands the range of the Powersoft Infobase
services by enabling users to view and, with a sound card, hear actual
demonstrations of various PowerBuilder tools without needing PowerBuilder
on the desktop. The Powersoft Infobase is based on Folio Corporation's
FolioVIEWS technology and contains a wide range of technical product
information, including tips and techniques in a question and answer format
and all printed documentation. With all product information on-line, users
are able to electronically search for a particular topic and the Powersoft
Infobase CD-ROM instantly locates the appropriate reference. Powersoft's
Infobase also includes access to a catalog of fax-on-demand documents,
customer services and a directory of Powersoft Alliance Partners and
Client/server Open Development Environment (CODE) partners.

"The FolioVIEWS product is critical to the success of both Powersoft and
our customers In fact, we re-engineered our tech support business process
to take advantage of the Folio Infobase technology," said Coleman Sisson,
Powersoft's vice president of customer services. "Not only are we the
first tool vendor to ship a free Infobase with the product, but we are the
first to create an Infobase with prerecorded technical demonstrations."

Initially used as an internal training tool and on-line information
repository, Powersoft began bundling the Powersoft Infobase with
PowerBuilder in March of this year to provide users with immediate access
to the same technical information used by Powersoft's support staff,
including answers to the most frequently asked hotline questions. Using
the intuitive FolioVIEWS technology, customers simply enter a brief
description of their question or problem, and the Powersoft Infobase
searches the designated database to instantly produce an answer or
solution. The search capability allows users quick and easy access to
specific product information.

"A picture may be worth a thousand words, but a live demonstration is worth
a thousand pictures," said Bob Johnson, associate director at Dataquest.
"Technology like Powersoft's Infobase takes CD-ROM knowledgebases to a new
level of usefulness, value and competitive edge. It represents the
direction service providers must move in to maximize support quality."

"We are excited to be working with Powersoft. The natural synergy between
ScreenCam and Powersoft's Infobase translates into increased effectiveness
and productivity for PowerBuilder customers," said Steve Barlow, director
of the Multimedia Products Group at Lotus Development Corp. "The way in
which Powersoft is using Lotus ScreenCam is a perfect example of how a
company can use practical, cost-effective multimedia solutions to empower
its users."

In addition to the free copy of the Infobase that ships with PowerBuilder,
an additional single issue can be purchased for $95. Customers can
purchase quarterly Infobase updates on a subscription basis for $195 per
year for a single user or $995 for a server edition.

"When I am evaluating a sophisticated and powerful product like
PowerBuilder, one consideration is matching the cost of support with the
product itself," said Alan Willford, programmer at Dana Computer Services.
"I am very pleased with the range of scalable service options Powersoft
provides because they allow me to tailor my service programs to meet my
specific needs. The Powersoft Infobase is like having an on-site technical
support engineer." Comprehensive Suite of Services
