Genus GX Development Series Toolkits Now Support PowerBASIC!

Houston, Texas ----July 21, 1994---- Genus Microprogramming has now added
PowerBASIC support to its popular line of graphics programming toolkits.
The toolkits, known collectively as the GX Development Series, allow
programmers to add comprehensive graphics support, imaging, special
effects, animation, sound, printer support, and more to their PowerBASlC
programs.
The toolkits in the series include GX Graphics, GX Text, GX Effects, GX
Printer, PCX Toolkit and GIF Toolkit. All toolkits are written entirely in
assembly language, and support graphics modes from CGA and Hercules up
through Super VGA 1280 X 1024 in 16 million colors.

"We're really excited to have Genus' quality line of programming products
supporting PowerBASIC," said Bob Zale, President of PowerBASlC. "Users
have been asking for more graphics capability, and the GX Development
Series is the perfect answer."

PowerBASlC has emerged as the leading compiler for BASIC programmers,
filling the gap left by Microsoft when they abandoned the DOS BASIC
market. Since September, 1993, when PowerBASlC was awarded PC Magazine's
Editors Choice as the best DOS BASIC, programmers have been flocking to
PowerBASlC to get the most advanced BASIC language technology.

PowerBASIC, originally marketed by Borland International as Turbo Basic,
has many advanced programming features such as instant TSR generation,
built-in assembler, extended data types including BCD, direct array
operations (sort, scan, insert, delete), and many other BASIC firsts. The
extensive documentation and on-line context-sensitive help system makes
this power truly easy to use.

"More and more of our BASIC customers are switching to PowerBASlC, and we
want to make sure our tools are there for them when they make that
decision," Gregg Burman, Genus's Development Manager. "PowerBASlC is a
great product, but it lacked good graphics tools. We re happy to fill that
gap."

The GX Development Series toolkits support C, Pascal, BASIC, Fortran,
Clipper, and more. They are available directly from Genus or through
dealers such as Programmer's Shop, Programmer's Paradise, ProVantage, or
dealers near you. Inquires should be directed to Genus' toll free sales
number (800) 227-0918 or internationally at (713) 870-0737. PowerBASlC is
available from PowerBASlC, Inc. and from resellers specializing in
programming tools. Telephone inquires should be directed to PowerBASlC,
Inc. at (800) 780-7707 and (408) 6598000 or by FAX at (408) 659-8008.
