State of the Art OEM Flat-Panels

Panel Mount Series Offers Resolution to 1024x768 and Size to 14-inch

Milpitas, CA; September 19, 1994--Dolch Computer Systems announces the
PanelView series of color flat-panel displays designed expressly for flush
mounting in OEM cabinets and control panels. This new high-performance
display series includes the world's first 14-inch active matrix color
panel, and the first ever 1024x768 XGA color panel with direct analog
input. Palettes to 17 million colors, contrast ratios of 60 to 1, and
viewing angles well over 90 degrees challenge the very best of high-end
CRTs. Optional touch panels are available for operator interface.
High-bright backlights and filters are available to enhance viewing in
direct sunlight, and other difficult viewing conditions. PanelView
displays are ideal plug-and-play components for OEMs in the scientific,
industrial, medical, and military marketplaces.

ACTIVE MATRIX TFT FLAT-PANELS

Active Matrix TFTs have revolutionized portable computers with their high
contrast, dazzling color displays. Since 1991, Dolch Computer Systems, the
leading manufacturer of high-end power portables, has achieved award
winning recognition as an innovator in this new technology. The latest in
a family of plug-and-play flat-panel video products, the PanelView series
truly represents the state-of-the art in industrial monitors. 640 x 480
color panels are available in sizes of 10.4-inch and 14.2-inch with
control inputs up to 18-bits, providing TrueColor performance of 262,000
simultaneous colors. High resolution, 1024 x 768 color panels are
available in 10.4-inch and 11.8-inch versions with 24-bit control inputs
and XGA analog video input. Direct sunlight readability is available with
a high-bright backlight, and optional light filters are available for
enhanced contrast ratios. The PanelView series includes models that can
accept analog input in the VGA, XGA, MAC II, or NTSC formats. Others can
be used with a Dolch VIPER plug-and-play flat-panel video controller. The
535 PIT-VIPER provides for maximum compatibility, running on the industry
standard ISA bus, while the Rocket-VIPER provides for the ultimate in
performance, running on the high-speed VESA Local Bus.

System Compatibility

PanelView is a direct replacement for color CRT's. It interfaces to PCs,
X-terminals, and workstations in EISA, ISA, VME and similar bus
environments. The series is compatible with Windows 3.x, DOS, UNIX and
XWindows. There are no additional software or hardware costs involved when
integrating PanelView into new or existing systems. Current computing
investments remain viable with a straight forward upgrade path to the use
of these rugged, space saving flat-panel displays.

LEADING EDGE APPLICATIONS

Dolch Computer Systems has a complete family of ISA bus compatible plug-in
boards that compliment PanelView monitors. In addition to the world class
APACHE 486 passive backplane engines, Dolch's OEM Products Group offers
boards for DVI (Digital Video Interactive), IPEG (Joint Photographic
Experts Group), and PC video applications. "Dolch brings to flat-panel
displays, all the full-motion color applications which were previously
limited to color CRTs," said Volker Dolch, Company President.
