DIGIBOARD INTRODUCES HIGH-SPEED REMOTE ACCESS BOARD
PRODUCT PROVIDES 230 KBPS CONNECTIONS TO CORPORATE LANS

MINNEAPOLIS, Aug. 29, 1994 -- DigiBoard today introduced the AccelePort, a
high-speed, intelligent serial port board for remote access that connects
up to eight asynchronous modems to an ISA file server. The product allows
users to take advantage of the cost and convenience benefits of remote
access computing, while meeting the high throughput demands of V.Fast
standards and high-speed modems. It will be demonstrated for the first
time at NetWorld+Interop 94 in Atlanta from Sept. 12-14.

The AccelePort is ideal for remote access connectivity needs ranging from
the addition of a single remote user to a network, to the configuration of
an entire corporate communications hub. The product features on-board
serial Input/Output (I/O) processing and throughput speed of 230 Kbps
uni-directional and 115 Kbps bi-directional. It is available with four or
eight high-speed, RS-232 asynchronous serial ports, and supports most
major networking software and operating systems. In addition to its high
communications speeds, the product provides network managers with a single
point through which all serial communications traffic can be controlled.

"With the growing trend toward telecommuting and business re-engineering,
companies are looking closely at remote access solutions to cut costs and
improve communications," said Joe Diodati, DigiBoard director of marketing
and strategic planning. "But remote computing only saves time and money
if the communications technologies are high-performance and
low-maintenance.

The AccelePort is yet another addition to DigiBoard's growing line of
solutions that provides flexible, efficient, affordable connections for
remote users on all types of networks."

The AccelePort's high-speeds are possible because the board includes a
16MHz IDT 3041 RISC processor that runs DigiBoard's patented Front End
Processor/Operating System (FEP/OS). Together these technologies offload
all serial I/O processing from the host. The FEP/OS uses a buffer to hold
data until the file server polls for incoming data, or a channel is
available for outgoing data. As a result, host CPU I/O overhead is
reduced to less than 0.5 percent of total CPU capacity. This dramatically
increases data throughput and allows the host CPU to concentrate on
applications and other tasks, ensuring the absolute integrity required for
remote connectivity in today's remote access environments.

The AccelePort supports networking operating systems and software including
Microsoft's Windows NT and Novell's NetWare Connect, NetWare Access
Services, NetWare Asynchronous Communications Server and NetWare Global
MHS. Operating systems including SCO UNIX, UNIX SVR4 and OS/2 also are
supported. The product features 128K RAM and on-board firmware that
provides extensive diagnostic capabilities.

The four-port AccelePort costs $895 and the eight-port AccelePort costs
$1,095. The product will be available Sept. 21 and will be covered by
DigiBoard's five-year warranty and service and technical support program.

DigiBoard manufactures products for multiuser systems, LANs and WANs on the
