TOWEREIFFEL NOW AVAILABLE FOR NEXTSTEP/x86

AUSTIN, TX -- June 6, 1 994 -- Tower Technology Corporation announced today
the availability of TowerEiffel System Release 1.3 for NeXTStep on Intel
x86. TowerEiffel is a complete object oriented programming system that
includes a high performance Eiffel 3 compiler, development environment,
programming tools and a base set of reusable software components. The
TowerEiffel compiler supports multi-language development and
interoperability between Eiffel, C, C++, and Objective C. TowerEiffel has
previously been available for SunOS, Solaris and OS/2 platforms. A port to
Motorola based NeXTStep is planned.

By interfacing directly from Eiffel to Objective C and vice versa, Tower
provides a development solution that retains the strengths of both
languages. For example, Eiffel proxies written in Objective C are provided
to send messages to Eiffel objects and thus bring Eiffel's assertion
technology and optimized compilation to NeXTStep applications created with
the NeXTStep Interface Builder and related tools.

Independent benchmarks have shown TowerEiffel to produce executable code
two to six times faster than any other Eiffel compiler currently on the
market. In other benchmarks, TowerEiffel performance is comparable to
C++.

A single commercial US license for TowerEiffel is $1 295. TowerEiffel is
available to individuals for non-commercial use at a 70% discount off the
commercial price. Fulltime students or students taking an approved Eiffel
class receive 80% discounts. University professors receive a 90% discount
on Tower prices. Evaluation and volume pricing is also available.

Tower's additional products and support services include a suite of
reusable integrated software libraries that speed the development process
by allowing developers to focus on domain specific applications instead of
low-level programming issues. These current integrated components include
the Eiffel Booch Components. Tower Support Services includes product
support, training, consulting and specialized research and development.

Founded in 1992, Tower Technology is emerging as a leading provider of
Eiffel compilers and related products and services. The Eiffel language,
created in 1986, is a non-proprietary advanced OOPL with built-in software
engineering principles. Key features of Eiffel include a clean syntax and
powerful object model as well as automated support for memory management,
quality assurance and documentation generation.

Eiffel has been popular in academia since the late 80s for teaching OO
concepts and is gaining market share in commercial development, both as an
OO design specification language and as an application development system.
NICE ( the NonProfit International Consortium for Eiffel ) controls the
language's standards and holds the Eiffel trademark.
