GREYSTONE'S NEW TYPE ADAPTOR FOR PCMCIA CARDS

$49 Accessory Allows Use of Type III Cards in Type I or II Slot; Additional
Hard Drives or GPS Devices Can Now Be Accommodated

Los Gatos, CA -- August 1, 1994 -- Greystone Peripherals, Inc., the leader
in affordable PCMCIA accessories and high-performance software duplication
systems, announced today the latest member of its CardDock family of
PCMCIA accessory products.

Greystone's Type Adaptor allows mobile computers -- the large majority of
which are manufactured with only a Type I or II slot -- to utilize Type
III devices. The single-slot adaptor conveniently provides low-cost usage
of any large Type m PC card with full interchangeability on all portable,
laptop and/or hand-held computers. This includes all PC card devices and
peripherals that conform to the Type III standard, such as hard drives or
global positioning systems.

'Users can now upgrade their portable PCs to Type III PC cards and take
advantage of the full range of Type III capabilities,' said John Usher,
Greystone's vice president of sales and marketing. "Also, where the use of
a Type m device blocks Type I or II slots, using the Type Adaptor frees
the slot. For users who wish to download software or data through a PCMCIA
fax/modem card, or to their PCMCIA hard drive, this is the only low-cost
product that allows them to do it."

Greystone's Model TA-50 CardDock Type Adaptor is available immediately at a
suggested list price of $49, and is warranted for 90 days. The Type
Adaptor and Greystone's CardDock product family are distributed by Bell
Microproducts to dealers, VARs/VADs and OEMs in the U.S.

Greystone's CardDock Family of Products.

The CardDock family of universal reader/writers for PC cards is fully
compliant with PCMCIA version 2.0x specifications for memory and I/O cards
and Intel ExCA specifications. The CardDock enables easy plug-and-play of
any memory and I/O PC cards designed to PCMCIA specifications. The
CardDock is a totally compatible solution for reading and writing data,
and the exchange of data files and peripheral I/O functions between mobile
and desktop PCs using PC Cards.

The basic two- or four-socket CardDock conveniently mounts into a standard
5.25-inch half-height drive slot and supports +5 volt and +3 volt PC card
Types I, II and III, as well as devices up to 15mm. This flexibility
ensures compatibility with future form factors that may exceed the current
10.5 mm maximum Type III standard. The suggested list price is $199.

The MiniCardDock mounts into the standard 3.5-inch half-height front-panel
drive slot of a desktop computer and supports +5 volt and +3 volt PC card
Types I, II and III. The unit is available immediately at a suggested list
price of $129.00.

The CardDock OutBack single-slot unit mounts internally into a 16-bit ISA
AT slot on the rear of the PC and supports +5 volt and +3 volt PC card
Types I, II and III. The OutBack is available now at a suggested list
price of $99.
