C&G lanuches Glider 4.0 into Windows

Macintosh Game developer "Glides" into Windows arena with the first in a
series of top-selling Arcade Games converted for Windows.

August 1, 1994 -- Salinas, CA: Casady & Greene Inc. announced today the
August 1. 1994 release of their award winning game, Glide 4.0, into the
Windows market. Until now, C&G has been a Macintosh-only game publisher,
producing award-winning titles since 1987. C&G was the first company to
bring a color game, Crystal Quest, to the Macintosh, the first to produce
a Power Macintosh Native game, Spaceway 2000, and one of the first to
support the Apple Newton with their collection of casino games, Silicon
Casino.

Casady & Greene could no longer ignore the continued requests for a Windows
version of Glider. The company noticed that the Windows gaming community
was lacking in high-quality, addictive action-arcade games which have been
C&G 's forte. Programmer, Gregg Bieser, who converted the original,
best-selling Macintosh game, Glider 4.0 by John Calhoun, to the Windows
platform., states, "What better way to help Windows gaming take off than
to get Glider to take off in Windows?"

The game's objective is to fly a paper glider through 60 rooms of an old
Mansion, catching air drafts and shafts. Each room is a puzzle to navigate
which holds surprises and strange challenges, such as avoiding candles,
leaping goldfish, electrical outlets, and dreaded paper shredders.

Glider 4.0 for the Macintosh has had a tremendous cult following since its
inception and shareware days. The on-line forums, such as Compuserve and
America OnLine, contain tips from fans on flying through the more
difficult rooms by fans, and access to Glider houses designed with the
Glider editor from the Macintosh version. Glider for Windows will include
More Glider, which has eight of the best houses designed by Glider fans,
previously available only through on-line services. File exchange software
such as Apple File Exchange, DOS Mounter, or MacLink Plus can be used to
transfer Glider houses to a PC format for Windows users.

Recently game publishers have been under fire from child interest groups
about the violent nature of video games. These groups have been concerned
about video games and the graphically-explicit violence, such as showing
game characters' heads being decapitated. The Software Publishers
Association (SPA) has been working with a number of publishers to come up
with a rating system for parents to judge the nature of a game's contents.
Terry Kunysz, President of Casady & Greene, states, "Glider 4.0 can prove
to millions of Windows users that an arcade game does not have to be
violent or bloody to offer hundreds of hours of fun and excitement.
Shooting rubber bands at balloons and avoiding paper shredders is about as
violent as Glider gets."

C&G has plans to make available a number of titles for Windows including
another Macintosh best-seller, Crystal Quest later this year. Glider 4.0
suggested retail price is $49.95.
