AIMTECH INTRODUCES CBT EXPRESS
New Software Makes Creating Multimedia Training Simple and Easy

NASHUA, NH, August 10, 1994 -- AimTech Corporation, a leading provider of
enterprise-wide multimedia software, today introduced CBT Express for
Windows, a complete computer-based training (CBT) course development
system that allows users to easily create effective and engaging
multimedia training courseware.

Targeted to professional CBT developers, as well as to first-time
developers of interactive training in corporations and government
agencies, CBT Express features a wide variety of pre-built templates and
color backgrounds to simplify and accelerate interactive multimedia
training development. No scripting, flowcharting, or programming is
required.

"CBT Express opens a whole new world of interactive training to people who
would never have attempted to develop interactive training before," said
Usman Ismail, president and CEO of AimTech. "Organizations are
increasingly moving to new, affordable multimedia technology to train
customers on their products or to teach employees job skills. Because of
its ease of use, CBT Express allows these organizations to develop
interactive training courseware in less time without requiring specialized
programming skills."

CBT Express supports all of the latest standards in digital audio and video
and allows users to tap into the power of their creativity to create a
"whole brain multimedia learning environment". Using the courseware
developed with CBT Express, people can learn faster, more fully retain new
information, and increase their overall productivity.

Just as the desktop publishing revolution began with the advent of software
like PageMaker which allowed users to design newsletters and brochures at
their desktop, CBT Express brings the world of interactive training and
multimedia learning systems to a whole new audience. Course designers and
other training specialists can concentrate on instructional design, course
content, and effectiveness of the training, rather than on the
technological bits and bytes of CBT development.

According to Training Magazine, although U.S. companies spend $43 billion
on training annually, multimedia training has just begun to build in
popularity. Small companies are using this technology to find new ways to
reach out to new markets with their products and services. Large companies
are using interactive training to re-engineer their corporation to empower
people to do more with less.

Features for rapid training course development

To facilitate rapid training course development, CBT Express features a
variety of pre-built templates for standard computer-based training
including Student log in/Registration, Objectives, Menus, Lessons,
Summaries, Course Maps, and Glossaries. Testing exercises like True/False,
Matching, Multiple Choice, and Fill-in-the-Blanks are also pre-built and
comply to standard design principles for CBT development. These options
allow course designers to focus on developing the best training courseware
possible for their organizations, not on computer-related issues.

CBT Express' built-in student tracking tabulates all the critical data
related to the progress of trainees through an entire course. A number of
storyboarding short- cuts are included in CBT Express to help users
combine ideas from a team of training and multimedia specialists. CBT
Express incorporates both "pen and paper" and electronic storyboarding
techniques that let users match animation, video, and graphic files with
their course mapping and design.

In large training departments, CBT Express courses can be deployed through
a client/server environment as part of a larger performance support
system, corporate-wide CBT or training simulation. For additional
customization and connectivity to other computer systems, courses can be
integrated into larger scale training applications created with
IconAuthor, a leading cross-platform multimedia authoring system, also
from AimTech.

Shipping on a single CD-ROM, CBT Express includes 375 color backgrounds, a
library of sample audio, video, and animation clips, and pre-built CBT
templates. A storyboard planning workbook, user manual, and computer-based
training course on learning and using CBT Express are also included.

Available in September 1994, CBT Express for Windows is priced at $2995.
Support for PCs running Windows NT and OS/2, UNIX workstations running
Motif, and Macintosh computers, will be available by year-end, enabling
users to deliver a multi-platform training course with a single
development effort. There are no run-time licensing fees for courses
developed with CBT Express.
AimTech Corporation, a privately held company with offices in Nashua, N.H.,
Chicago, Denver, London, Los Angeles, and Washington, D.C., develops and
markets multi-platform software products for creating interactive
multimedia applications.
