Employee Evaluation Program Debuts at COMDEX
Windows-based Employee Evaluation Software Ensures Fair Reviews

SEATTLE, Washington - May 23, 1994 - Paradigm Software Development has
announced version 1.0 of WorkWise-Employee Evaluation during Windows World
at Spring COMDEX. WorkWise-Employee Evaluation is the latest addition to
the family of WorkWise products designed to provide managers with tools to
effectively automate the traditional human resources management process.
Available in July through the retail and VAR channel, WorkWise-Employee
Evaluation is a package of innovative tools to let managers produce better
evaluations and track and evaluate employee progress more effectively
through automated organization and an easy user interface.

WorkWise-Employee Evaluation provides tools to:

* Accurately track and analyze employee reviews to ensure
  fair performance ratings
* Clearly organize statistical information and history
  graphically to ensure evaluation accuracy
* Permit customized peer-to-peer and customer reviews

WorkWise-Employee Evaluation allows for an unlimited number of job
evaluations, each evaluation offering an unlimited number of
user-definable classifications (such as technical knowledge) and unlimited
user-definable topics (such as technical knowledge in a specific task.)
Managers can assign a specific weight value to each individual
classification which reflects its importance to the job, and allows the
customization of the performance level required for each category within
the position. Each employee's own goals are then set, and performance is
tracked by date.

The system automatically tracks which reviews have been assigned, to whom,
and when they were completed. Built-in security restricts the screen views
and domain access for each specific employee, allowing peers to use the
program for feedback without danger of viewing sensitive information.
After obtaining feedback from appropriate supervisors, peers -- even
clients or customers -- aggregate scores are automatically calculated to
produce an overall performance evaluation. As each step of the review is
completed, the system logs and updates the records, prompts-for and tracks
managerial authorization, and provides the company with complete records
of both the appraisal data and the evaluator's summary.

A number of reporting and analysis options are available. Graphic displays
automatically chart a comparative analysis, and statistical analysis
points out how an employee has progressed in a specific area over time.
This goal tracking facilitates better management by objectives and allows
employees and managers to pursue total quality -- the basis of the TQM
movement.

WorkWise-Employee Evaluation keeps a full database on every employee,
allowing the program to offer an analysis of EEO statistics to highlight
potential gender or racial biases. WorkWise-Employee Evaluation also
offers a comparison of group-evaluation results to a particular manager's
evaluation in order to "red flag" possible biases in the evaluation
structure. Creating roadmaps for corrective and preventative measures
encourages consistently generous or stringent reviewers to alter their
habits. The structural system of the program not only supports
peer-to-peer and customer feedback, but also facilitates evaluation of
upline managers by employees.

WorkWise-Employee Evaluation works alone, or integrates seamlessly with
WorkWise-Employee File as another "tab" in the folder selection. Employee
Evaluation supports import and export of data from most major accounting
and HR programs, as well as DBase, FoxPro 2.0 and 2.5, Microsoft Access,
Betrieve, Paradox and ASCII formats. Other custom-import templates are
easily defined.

WorkWise-Employee Evaluation is available for $395 for a single user
version. Site licenses and network version are available from Paradigm
Software Development and authorized resellers. Customers currently
reviewing the product in beta include The Arizona Department of
Transportation, Fidelity National Title, Davis Wright Tramaine, and The
Hussman Corporation.
