ICONIX Ships New Object-Oriented Training CD-ROM:
"Overview of Object-Oriented Analysis & Design Methods"

June 20, 1994 -- SANTA MONICA, California...ICONIX Software Engineering,
Inc., makers of ICONIX PowerTools, announced the release of their new
Object-Oriented Methology Training CD-ROM: "Overview of Object-Oriented
Analysis & Design Methods," the first training course of its kind to
appear on CD-ROM. Through the use of on-line demos and tutorials, the
CD-ROM provides a thorough, yet easy-to-follow survey of the various O-O
methodologies currently in use: Rumbaugh OMT, Jacobson Objectory, Booch
OOD, Coad/Yourdon OOA, Wirfs-Brock RDD, Martin-Odell OOA and Shlaer-Mellor
OOA/OODLE methods.

One of the first CASE tool companies to make its mark in the
Object-Oriented field, ICONIX was also one of the first companies to
offer training in Object-Oriented methodologies. This however marks the
first time ICONIX has ventured into the multimedia arena. By offering
their O-O methodology training course on CD-ROM, ICONIX president Doug
Rosenberg hopes to reach a larger audience, due to increased convenience
and accessibility of the O-O training: " We have received numerous
requests from customers who wanted O-O methodology training on their
desktop, as a supplement to classroom training. Our CD-ROM offers a
convenient and economical way to get the training they need, without
having to leave the office."

The latest in the line of Object-Oriented products from ICONIX, the CD-ROM
training course is being offered both separately and as part of a package,
as it is also included in the newly released ICONIX "O-O Starter Kit."
The kit includes two ICONIX PowerTools Object-Oriented analysis and
design tools, ObjectModelerx and FastTaskx, as well as the training
course on CD-ROM and one year maintenance. Mr. Rosenberg sees the kit as
a good low-cost, low-risk introduction into Object-Oriented software
engineering: "The ICONIX O-O Starter Kit is a great way to get started
quickly in Object-Oriented software engineering," says Doug Rosenberg,
ICONIX president. "With the O-O methodology training now available on
CD-ROM, not only will developers and managers have the tools they'll need
to get started, but they'll be able to make an informed decision when
choosing the best methods to suit their needs."
