COMPONENT UNITS, ASSIGNMENT OF RESIDUAL EQUITY ACCOUNTS HIGHLIGHT NEW
RELEASE OF PRENTICE HALL'S FAST!G

ATLANTA, June 10 -- Prentice Hall Professional Software announced the
shipment of version 5.01 of the company's not-for-profit fund accounting
workpaper software, FAST!G. This release features combined and combining
financial statements that include columns for component unit subtotals,
component totals, and primary government totals. Version 5.01 also enables
accountants to assign residual equity accounts on the same screen used to
assign closing and rounding accounts.

"The addition of component units and other enhancements in FAST!G 5.01
firmly establishes the product as a true solution for not-for-profit
workpapers, since it meets current government auditing standards with
great efficiency," said Senior Product Manager, Accounting Products,
Suzanne E. Phillips, CPA.

New Financial Statement Headings, Rounding Option and Spreadsheet Output
Among Other enhancements

With FAST!G version 5.01, users can also create and edit headings on
financial statements through a convenient new menu option. The ability to
round detail for consistent totals allows accountants to round balances at
the lowest level of detail (the individual balances entered into FAST!G),
ensuring consistency across statements produced under any format or
grouping. All FAST!G statements and most reports can now be placed in a
spreadsheet-compatible file for easy integration with spreadsheet
software.

Users can choose from over 200 printer selections, including recent
Hewlett-Packard printers, with version 5.01. Three different printer ports
are now available as well. Many screens created or modified for this
FAST!G version have a simplified user interface. As mentioned earlier,
this release also includes the assignment of residual equity accounts,
including the ability to assign close, rounding, and residual accounts for
combination reporting.

Availability, Support and System Requirements

The list price for FAST!G is $995 and comes with a 30-day money-back
guarantee. FAST!G requires an IBM and 100% compatible 80286-based PC, DOS
3.3 or later, and 640K RAM. Prentice Hall recommends an 80386 or
80486-based PC, a color monitor, and a 132-column (compressed print)
printer.
