CrystalEyes PC and WorldToolKit for Windows Provide Interactive, Real-Time,
Hardware-Independent, VR Solutions On PC or Workstations

San Rafael, CA -- June 1, 1994 -- StereoGraphics Corporation, the world's
largest supplier of three-dimensional electronic stereo display equipment,
announced that its CrystalEyes PC System and Sense8 Corporation's
WorldToolKit for Windows are now shipping in quantity and are each priced
under $1,000.

"Up until now, real-time interactive 3D simulations were financially out of
reach for many Windows developers," said Wil Cochran, StereoGraphics' vice
president of sales and marketing. "This aggressive pricing opens up a
world of possibilities for applications in business, engineering,
architecture, entertainment and education, among others."

CrystaEyes PC converts a non-stereo-ready PC into a state-of-the-art
graphics platform for true 3D stereo visualization. The product gives
stereo depth to on-screen images, which dramatically increases the user's
ability to analyze complex graphics and intricate details.

CrystalEyes PC works with most popular desktop system platforms, including
IBM PCs and compatibles and some Apple Macintosh and Amiga computers. It
includes the patented CrystalEyes shuttering liquid crystal eyewear and
combines stereo electronics and an infrared emitter into a single small
package which sits on top of the monitor. A single cable ensures easy
installation without opening the computer. The CrystalEyes PC Model CE-PCE
is available at $985. StereoGraphics markets its products domestically
through resellers, and internationally through distributors in Japan,
Europe, and the rest of the world.

WorldToolKit for Windows enables developers to rapidly build interactive,
real-time graphics simulations. It makes 3D graphics applications easy to
prototype while providing the functionality required to build complex
applications. The software is available at $795 from Sense8, as well as
from a worldwide network of distributors in the U.S., Japan, the U.K.,
France, Germany, Italy, and Finland.

"WorldToolKit for Windows sets new performance levels," said Ken Pimentel,
vice president of Sense8, Sausalito, CA. "Concepts which may have once
been difficult to communicate are now brought to life with dynamic,
interactive three-dimensional elements."

A key feature of WorldToolKit is its hardware-independence. For example, a
WorldToolKit application written for the PC will compile on the Silicon
Graphics Reality Engine. This support for cross-platform development
provides significant flexibility and expandability. WorldToolKit for
Windows requires a 486DX PC or better, running Windows 3.1 or NT with
either a 16K-, 32K-, 64K or 256K-color graphics driver. A localbus PC
using a Pentium chip provides additional speed.

The stereo electronics convert a single frame into separate left and right
fields. These fields are alternated at high speed onto the stereo-ready
monitor display for viewing through the eyewear. Because the lightweight
(3 oz.), untethered CrystalEyes glasses are synchronized with the stereo
image by the infrared emitter, any number of users can simultaneously view
the three-dimensional screen images with complete freedom of movement.

The patented eyewear delivers a minimum dynamic range of 250: 1, ensuring a
realistic, high-resolution, ghost-free color image, while the 120Hz screen
refresh rate in stereo mode provides flicker-free viewing. CrystalEyes PC
also features an automatic brightness mode which allows users to
simultaneously view a non-stereo software application without removing the
eyewear, it also includes standard infrared emitters which support viewers
up to 8 feet away, and battery life in excess of 100 hours.

CrystalEyes products are being used to improve and dramatize video and
computer presentations, scientific visualization, medical imaging,
surgical endoscopy, molecular modeling, photogrammetry, motion simulation,
inspection systems, remote vehicle control, flight simulation and all
types of training.
