Proxim/ZDS Relationship Leads to Introduction of First RangeLAN2-Compatible
Wireless LANProduct Line

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., June 27, 1994 -- Proxim, Inc., announced today that
its partnership with Zenith Data Systems' (ZDS) Mobile Systems Group has
resulted in the introduction of CruiseLAN, a new family of ZDS wireless
LAN products.

The CruiseLAN product line is designed to interoperate fully with Proxim's
new RangeLAN2 high performance wireless LAN product family. Proxim
engineers in Mountain View, Calif., worked closely with ZDS engineering
teams in Buffalo Grove, Ill., and Santa Clara, Calif., in developing the
CruiseLAN products.

ZDS' new CruiseLAN product line includes CruiseLAN/PCMCIA, a Type II high
speed wireless LAN connectivity card; CruiseLAN/ISA, a 16-bit wireless
adapter card for desktop PCs or servers; and CruiseLAN/Access Point, a
wireless bridge enabling continuous transparent roaming for mobile users.
All ZDS CruiseLAN products are fully interoperable with Proxim's RangeLAN2
wireless LAN product family.

Proxim's RangeLAN2 family of high performance wireless products, including
RangeLAN2/PCMCIA, RangeLAN2/ISA and RangeLAN2/Access Point, are designed
for the office LAN market. Based on secure, interference-immune frequency
hopping spread spectrum technology in the 2.4-2.4835 GHz band, RangeLAN2
offers the longest range, highest throughput, and most advanced wireless
network architecture of any product in its class. RangeLAN2 delivers an
uncompressed data rate of 1.6 Mbps per channel across 15 independent
channels, creating an aggregate network bandwidth of 24 Mbps, with
state-of-the-art features such as site survey, power management, and
seamless roaming.
