AEGIS SOFTWARE ANNOUNCES weCan for Windows - FEA FOR PC USERS

PITTSBURGH, 4 February 1994 - weCan for Windows, a new, fully-integrated
modeling, design and finite element analysis (FEA) software package, is
now shipping from AEgis Software Corporation.

weCan for Windows combines complete 3-D engineering modeling and design
capabilities with the latest finite element analysis technology from
Westinghouse Electric Corporation.

The Windows based 3-D modeler offers all the features of expensive
workstation modeling and CAD systems: dynamic rotation, pan and zoom;
one-button access to standard plane views, as well as isometric, dimetric,
and trimetric views; generation of lines and curves parallel,
perpendicular, and tangent to other curves; automatic fillets, chamfers,
trimming and extending; ruled surfaces; solids generated by revolution,
extrusion, bounding surfaces, or bounding corners; parametric modeling; a
parametric design programming language; and associative grouping and
layering.

Finite element pre-processing capabilities include a user-extendible
material library; complete one, two and three dimensional finite element
library; automatic 2D surface and 3D solid mesh generation; and automatic
model verification. Post-processing capabilities include stress and
displacement animation; color stress contours; iso-stress surfaces; and
cutting planes.

The Windows interface provides context-sensitive help, on-line
documentation, a customizable tool box, full undo/redo, and access to all
Windows supported graphics devices and printers. You can paste full color,
grayscale, or black and white graphics created with weCan for Windows
directly into reports and documents created with your word processor or
spreadsheets, for example.

weCan for Windows' no-risk open-architecture provides interfaces to
AutoCad/DXF, I-DEAS, and IGES CAD formats, and to all widely used analysis
programs, including Abaqus, Algor, Ansys, Cosmos, Nastran, Patran, and
others.

A wide range of linear stress, modal vibration, and response-spectrum
analyses are available. The analysis phase automatically optimizes the
model for rapid solution and is launched in a separate window, allowing
the user to continue other modeling tasks. All calculations are
double-precision and use 32-bit extended DOS for accuracy and efficiency.

"weCan for Windows is designed for easy learning by novices while
delivering the features and power required by experienced designers and
finite element analysts," according to Dick Nicholson, President. "No
other serious FEA package today offers this combination of ease of use,
openness to other packages and a world class solver--all at the same price
you'd pay for a new PC. This product answers the call of engineers who are
buying their first FEA package-and unhappy Algor users," Nicholson added.

Attractive PC pricing starts at $1,995 for a Basic 3000 node version, and
goes up to $4,995 for the Professional unlimited version. All packages
include support and updates for the first year.

weCan for Windows runs on Pentium, 486, and 386/387 PC's running Windows
3.1 with 8 MB or more of RAM and at least 20 MB of free hard disk space.
