U.S. ROBOTICS JOINS INDUSTRY LEADERS IN SUPPORT OF RADISH VOICEVIEW
PROTOCOL

SKOKIE, Ill., -- February 17, 1994 -- U.S. Robotics, Inc. (NASDAQ:USRX)
today announced support for the new VoiceView Protocol developed by Radish
Communications Systems. The protocol enables users to easily and
cost-effectively exchange data during a voice telephone call.

U.S. Robotics joins Microsoft, Rockwell, Dialogic and others in their
support of VoiceView, and will be adding the protocol to a new line of
multimedia products to be introduced in mid-1994.

The VoiceView Protocol lets users transfer text and graphics during a voice
telephone connection to a receiving computer, screen phone or fax machine.
A broad spectrum of applications are possible, such as desktop
conferencing, instant visual confirmation of transactions and remote
hardware and software support.

"The potential for the integrated voice/data market is tremendous," said G.
Christopher Coffin, U.S. Robotics vice president, strategic planning. "The
new VoiceView Protocol delivers entry-level collaborative computing to the
marketplace. With it we can now provide integrated voice/data applications
for Microsoft At Work devices and enhance Windows applications by enabling
the exchange of screens or entire files during one phone conversation."
