ARTISOFT ANNOUNCES TECHNOLOGY ALLIANCE WITH NOVELL

Artisoft Chooses NetWare 4 As 32-Bit Platform For Server Development

(TUCSON, AZ - Feb. 14, 1994) - Artisoft, Inc. announced today that it has
entered into an agreement with Novell that covers the licensing of
client-server technology, Novell certification of interoperability between
Artisoft client software and Novell server-based networks, and the
companies' intentions to cooperate to provide hardware products that meet
mutual customer needs.

"This agreement marks the beginning of what we believe will be a longterm
relationship with Novell. It also strengthens our commitment to providing
our customers with leading networking and communication technology that
can improve the productivity of their businesses," commented William C.
Keiper, Artisoft's President & CEO.

"The alliance between Artisoft and Novell was driven by our mutual
customers who need us to improve the integration of our networking
products," commented Richard King, Executive Vice President and General
Manager of the NetWare Systems Group. "Our companies are working together
on several levels to make sure this interoperability happens. We are glad
to have this opportunity to join with Artisoft to better meet the needs of
networking customers."

A key component of the alliance includes the sharing of client-server
technology between Novell and Artisoft. Artisoft plans to develop a
server-based product for LANtastic network operating system users based on
Novell's NetWare 4 operating system.

Artisoft and Novell are also working together to provide seamless,
Novell-certified compatibility between Artisoft's LANtastic and NetWare
network environments. To achieve this, Artisoft has licensed Novell's
NetWare Core Protocols (NCPs) and will include NCP support in future
versions of the LANtastic network. This NCP support will enable LANtastic
network clients to seamlessly access NetWare 2, NetWare 3, and NetWare 4
servers for network services. This support will enable customers to
operate both LANtastic and NetWare networks transparently.

"We are excited to bring our users an excellent networking product that is
based on the leading server platform," stated Keiper. "We believe that
Novell's NCPs provide an excellent infrastructure for departmental and
corporate computing. LANtastic users in a workgroup or branch office will
now have the ability to seamlessly connect to a main NetWare enterprise
network."

Another key component of this alliance includes the collaboration between
Artisoft and Novell relative to Artisoft's recent acquisition of Eagle
Technology, a leading provider of high-quality networking products
specializing in 100 percent NetWare-compatible network interface cards.
Artisoft and Novell anticipate that Eagle will continue to supply
Novell-licensed and branded Ethernet adapters. Artisoft and Novell also
seek to expand the existing relationship between Novell and Eagle.
