Trinzic Introduces Forest & Trees 3.1 With Access to DLLs, More DBMS
Interfaces, "Drill Down" on Graphs, and Improved Reporting/Graphics

Palo Alto, CA, December 8, 1993--Trinzic Corporation (NASDAQ:TRNZ) today
introduced Forest & Trees 3.1, the newest version of the company's
award-winning data analysis and reporting product for Microsoft Windows.
The new version of Forest & Trees increases the flexibility that decision
makers have to monitor important business activity and make timely,
informed decisions based on the most accurate, up-to-date data available.
In addition to the product's many unique features such as alarms, triggers
and scheduling, Forest & Trees now provides expanded data access, better
graphics, and more links to other PC applications via dynamically linked
libraries (DLLs).

Improved in Every Aspect

"Trinzic set out to improve every aspect of Forest & Trees," noted
Frederick J. Lizza, Vice President and General Manager of Trinzic's Data
Access and Connectivity Products Group. "Forest & Trees is already the
leader in the corporate information access and analysis market. So, the
goal for version 3.1 was to increase the usability of the product in every
way. "

User-defined Expandability

Forest & Trees has always been able to work well with other Windows
programs, but users wanted to develop their own functions or use currently
available programs from within Forest & Trees. Forest & Trees now includes
the ability to call external DLLs-opening Forest & Trees to a limitless
number of function and application capabilities such as statistical,
trigonometric, or financial functions either internally developed or from
an existing set of libraries.

Direct Access to More Databases

Forest & Trees version 3.1 has added four new database interfaces to an
already long list of direct database access capabilities. New Providers
have been added to access InformixOnLine, DB2/2, ODBC compliant databases
and the Sybase NetGateway. The DB2/2 Provider is significant because it
allows access to DB2, AS/400, SQL/DS and other supported IBM data sources
via IBM's DDCS/2 gateway software. The ODBC Provider allows Forest & Trees
to access a wide variety of sources--essentially any data source that has
an ODBC driver.

Colorful, Graphical Reports

The sophisticated Forest & Trees reporting feature has been enhanced to
improve the presentation and impact of reports. Users can now add pictures
to reports--making it easy to display graphical elements such as corporate
logos or pictures of products along with sales data. Users can also add
Forest & Trees business graphs to reports to graphically summarize the
sales data that is presented in the body of the report. Trinzic has also
added color and extended the popular Forest & Trees alarm feature to the
reporting tool. This unique capability makes it easy for users to shade
and color specific data values that meet or exceed user defined conditions
so financial reports can highlight those figures such as expense numbers
that exceed budgets. And, if the numbers change, the shading automatically
changes--without manual intervention.

New "Drill Down" Capability, Improved Business Graphs and Charts

Users now have the ability to "drill down" on a graph to get to the
appropriate level of graphical or numerical detail. For example, a
marketing manager can simply click on a slice of a "product sales" pie
chart to get to a lower level of detail such as specific product sales in
a particular time period. Forest & Trees 3.1 also expands the already
extensive graphical data analysis capabilities to provide new graph types,
smarter layouts, and improved presentation. Forest & Trees can now produce
3D bar, line, area, and pie charts, Gantt charts, Area graphs, Scatter
graphs, Polar (radar) graphs and high-low graphs in addition to the
standard types already supported.

Interface Enhancements for Greater Ease of Use--New View Types

In version 3.1, Trinzic has added check box and radio button view types,
which increase the interface options for users of Forest & Trees--making
it easier to develop intuitive, easy-to-use decision support applications.
In addition to these major enhancements Forest & Trees 3.1 also includes
numerous improvements, that will make the job of developing in Forest &
Trees quicker and easier, such as Picture Buttons to aid in the intuitive
nature of applications; Layout Improvements to move, size and align
multiple views with a single action; Edit Enhancements; and customizable
help to allow developers to create and attach their own on-line help to an
application--providing the ability to further customize Forest & Trees for
specific needs.

Pricing and Availability

Forest & Trees 3.1 is now in customer test and is expected to enter general
availability later this month. The price for Forest & Trees begins at
$695. For information about upgrades or to order Forest & Trees, call
