Complex PLDs Made Easy
The Design Center Now with Programmable Logic Synthesis

December 17, 1993 -- (Irvine, CA) PLSyn is the most advanced programmable
logic synthesis system available in the desktop EDA market. As part of the
Design Center family of products, it offers device-independent logic
synthesis which is fully integrated with schematic capture and min/max
timing simulation.

PLSyn is the only desktop system which allows the user to design and
simulate a system with programmable logic, discrete digital and analog
parts on the same schematic. PLSyn allows the user to describe
programmable logic directly on the schematic with a powerful synthesis
language, logic symbols, or both. Large hierarchical designs are no
problem, PLSyn can handle tens of thousands of gates. PLSyn searches its
device database for the best devices for the particular design.

PLSyn allows simulation of the entire design before and after the physical
implementation has been selected. Programmable logic is automatically
compiled and simulated with the rest of the system. After the physical
implementation has been chosen, the simulations include timing information
for the actual devices. Either of MicroSim's proven simulators can be
chosen: PLogic for purely digital designs, or PSpice A/D for mixed
analog/digital designs. With the Design Center's integrated environment,
the user gets advanced simulation, interactive stimulus editing, and
graphical waveform analysis.

When the design is complete, PLSyn optimizes the programmable logic, and
can automatically partition and fit it into one or more parts--even
different types of parts. Then the user can define their own constraints
such as price, speed, and power consumption. PLSyn does the rest. A
selection can be made from a library of over 4,000 PLDs, from standard to
the new complex PLDs, including the largest of the new AMD MACH devices.
PLSyn is appropriate for designers new to programmable logic and also
experienced PLD users. The Design Center with PLSyn provides the most
productive system available.

The Design Center with PLSyn will have a 25% introductory discount off the
published prices of: $3,500-$5,500 ($4,550-$7,150 for international sales)
on the PC under Microsoft Windows and $7,600-$14,500 ($9,900-$18,850 for
international sales) on the Sun under OpenWindows. PLSyn will be available
March, 1994.
