Custom LINUX-based systems

Field Technology, Inc. announces the introduction of 386 and 486
"Linux machines" based exclusively on non-commercial, non-proprietary
software such as copylefted and public domain software. Each system
will be shipped with Linux (a free, Unix-compatible, operating system
kernel) plus TeX, GNU Emacs, gcc, g++, X windows, yabbs, and others
installed on the hard disk. These systems are ideal as low-cost
workstations for various applications including mobile robotics,
software development, computer science education (or self-education), and
"home hacking." These machines can also be used to provide
X-terminal, BBS, UUCP, Usenet, and Internet access. In fact, Field
Technology uses one of these machines for its BBS and UUCP/Usenet
host.

All hardware, comes with a 1-year warranty. There is absolutely no
warranty or support for the software. We do, however, make available a
list of third-party companies and organizations that provide such
support.

We also custom build machines to suit your needs.

In appreciation of the invaluable contribution of the Free Software
Foundation (FSF), Field Technology will donate $25 (US) to FSF for
each Linux machine sold.
