HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDE PREMIERES ON PHOTO CD PORTFOLIO DISC AT DAYTON'S,
HUDSON'S, AND MARSHALL FIELD'S

MINNEAPOLIS, MINN., Nov. 29--Need help with holiday gift ideas? Dayton's,
Hudson's, and Marshall Field's have just what you need: a holiday gift
guide on compact disc.

The interactive guide, produced and distributed on Kodak Photo CD Portfolio
discs by Prism Studios of Minneapolis, will be available at six of Dayton
Hudson Corporation's department stores in Minneapolis, Chicago, Detroit
and Grand Rapids in early December.

"Our hope is that our customers find this an innovative and useful tool as
they begin or complete their holiday shopping," says Stewart Widdess,
senior vice president of marketing for Dayton's, Hudson's and Marshall
Field's.

Customers will walk up to an in-store kiosk and quickly access gift
suggestions in any of four price ranges. Suggested gifts will be displayed
on a television monitor, while an audio description of the article plays.
The entire process can be completed in 30 seconds or less.

Ron Johnson of Prism Studios, a TC-based commercial photographic and
presentation company, suggested the gift guide as an alternative to
traditional, continuous-play videotapes in the stores' existing standalone
kiosks. The advantage of a disc-based guide is that shoppers can access
any of the gift items in a few seconds, rather than waiting for an entire
videotape presentation to play, start to finish.

The monitor will display a 'Welcome" message when the guide is not in use.
After shoppers press "1" on a numeric keypad to start the guide, they will
be prompted to choose a gift price category: under $25, under $50, under
$100 and over $100. Each category includes nine gift suggestions,
identified by number and a small photo. The shopper will select one of the
numbers, and a full-screen image of the product will appear with the price
and brand product name, while the audio description plays.

Photo CD Portfolio discs can store up to 440 color images at video
resolution, or a combination of images, graphics, and sound. Prism, a beta
test site for Photo CD Portfolio software, worked closely with Kodak on
the project.

"This is an excellent example of the power of Photo CD discs for
presentations," notes Kathy Hudson, vice president and general manager of
Kodak's Professional and Printing & Publishing Imaging group. "It takes
advantage of both random access and the interactive capabilities available
through disc technology." In addition, she notes, it demonstrates the
superior image quality of digital images when compared to videotape.

Kiosks featuring the guide will be outfitted with a Kodak Photo CD PCD 270
player, rather than the usual VHS videotape player. Images will be
displayed on the standard 13-inch video monitors normally housed in the
kiosks.

Stores featuring the CD gift guide include Dayton's downtown Minneapolis
and Southdale stores; Marshall Field's State Street and Oak Brook stores;
and Hudson's Oakland and Grand Rapids stores. Dayton's, Hudson's and
Marshall Field's are also creating additional copies of the guide for
distribution to its customers who have previously purchased Photo CD
players for home use.

The Department Store Division of Dayton Hudson Corporation operates 63
stores in 9 states, with combined annual sales of $2.9 billion. It
operates 19 Dayton's stores in Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and
Wisconsin; 21 Hudson's stores in Michigan, Indiana and Ohio; and 23
Marshall Field's stores in Illinois, Wisconsin, Ohio and Texas.

Prism Studios and Presentations offers professional photo lab services,
multimedia and presentation production from its headquarters in downtown
Minneapolis. It was one of the first facilities in the upper Midwest to
offer Photo CD and Professional Photo CD services.
