Analog Input MUX Expands Any A/D Board
Half-Sized Card Delivers 32 Channels

Expanded Capabilities for IBM-PC Platforms ...

Adding more analog input channels to an existing A/D board greatly reduces
the cost per channel compared to installing additional A/D boards. DATEL's
new PC-440 Multiplexer Expander board provides this expansion on a
half-size card for IBM-PC and compatible computers. The Mansfield, MA
company's product can be used with any host A/D board, including DATEL's
PC411/412 Series. The product also converts a high-level A/D board into a
low-level sensor input system for industrial transducers.

Single-Ended or Differential Inputs ...

The PC-440 includes 32 single-ended or 16 differential analog expansion
channels whose output connects to one input channel on the host PC411/412
A/D board. Simple I/O port software automatically advances the channel
address on the PC-440 or a separate digital advance signal may be used.
The channel address register is initialized either by I/O-mapped software
or by a parallel digital input which may be connected to any digital
output port.

256 Channels and MST Settling Time ...

Cascading several PC-440's enables the user to add up to 256 additional
channels. A clever addressing scheme shares multiple PC-440's on the same
I/O address and avoids using up excess I/O locations. Software included in
the PC411/412SET system directly controls the PC-440 and PC411/412
channels together using a logical addressing method.

The PC-440 features a 2 microsecond settling time (PGA bypassed), +/-0.01%
non-linearity, and a +/-10V input/output range.

INNOVATION and EXCELLENCE

Built-in Features for Industrial Applications ... For process control and
factory automation applications, an on-board differential Programmable
Gain Amplifier offers gains up to X100, yielding a +/- 100mV full scale
range. The PGA settles in 10 microseconds at a gain of one. Combined with
local quiet +/- 15V excitation supplied by the PC-440, this configuration
is ideal for sensor bridges such as strain gauges. The PC-440 also
includes input signal conditioning circuit pads for user-configured
functions such as attenuation, current loop input, spike clamp limiters,
and hash filters.

Quick Connections, Great Price!

Analog signals attach to a rear-panel 37-pin "D" connector. Parallel
digital address signals use a 26-pin internal flat cable header connector.
The PC-440 is powered by +5V at 1 Amp supplied from the PC bus. The card
measures 4.2 by 5.3 by 0.5 inches. Single quantity pricing is $395 with
generous quantity discounts available.

The PC-440 is available from stock to 2 weeks.
