I know this is /r/selfhosted but many of us rely on cloud services for
other things. I use OCI so I can have an external zabbix server for
home monitoring.

I’ve gone through endless sites, forums and documentation to have this
IPsec VPN up. Reason is that OPNsense calls “legacy” the old way of
doing things. And what usually takes 10min took me a week of trial and
error.

NAT didn’t helped here.

So o rolled my own tutorial. I hope it helps someone.

Still missing on how to handle tunnel redundancy but that’s a well
documented feature - and I’m still enjoying this small victory before
going through the next frustration
