PodFetch v4.6.0 reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- SamTV98 · 2023-12-29 18:55 Hi selfhosters, I am happy to announce the next big release of [PodFetch](https://github.com/SamTV12345/PodFetch). If you want to find out what PodFetch is. Please checkout [this](https ://www.reddit.com/r/selfhosted/comments/14t9cos/announcing_podfetch_v4 00/) post with more details about the service. This release includes: \- ✨ Configurable podcast and episode names: This means that you can control exactly how your files and directories should be configured \- 🛠️ An easier mechanism of synching between podcasts leading to more predictable links between AntennaPod and the Web UI. \- 🔒 Support for API keys: From this point on every file is protected by an API key. This API key is unique to each user and prevents unauthorized access by guessing URLs. The API key will be the used in future releases to connect PodFetch Gateway to PodFetch to control Google Nest and other devices. \- ✨User profile page: There is a new user profile page that enables you to change your password or generate a new API key through the web UI. \- 💨 Speed improvements under the hood Future milestones: \- Tagging of podcasts (already in the work) \- Chromecast support ---------------------------------------------------------------------- BelugaBilliam · 2023-12-30 09:00 Looks great. Question though - if I get an error "you are not an admin or uploader", how do I fix this or login? No auth setup or anything. Using default docker-compose file. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- SamTV98 · 2023-12-30 09:03 Thanks for the compliment. Most of the time it is because of incorrect volume permissions. You should get errors in the docker logs stating that the file could not be created. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- BelugaBilliam · 2023-12-30 09:13 Indeed that is what it was. My podcasts folder had root ownership. Changing it to the local user solved it. Thanks! Should've noticed that myself. Additionally, I have created a new enhancement issue in the GitHub page. Looks like it did not take my enhancement label. Essentially I would like to see if it's possible to add how many episodes to download when adding a podcast, as well as a max amount of episodes saved. Currently, is there any way to remove a podcast? I see delete is in the future notes, just curious if there is a way, even if jank, to do it now. Thanks for the quick reply!
