I am looking to create my own digital holiday card (ecard) that I can
host it in my server and share the link to friends and family. is
there an DIY, opensource, self-hosted alternative to popular ecard
services such as paperless post, greenvite, punchbowl?

I am only looking for the ecard, not RSVP or other added bells and
whistle. just a simple design I create locally (jpg, pdf) that its
presented as an animation coming out of an envelope and with two sides
that can be flipped back and ford, like the sample below.
