Wallabag installation/setup guide reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Smittyuk · 2023-12-28 11:39 Hi, Can someone please recommend a current/valid Wallabag install either through Docker or a Linux VM? I've gone through and followed a few but I seem to get stuck at various points.. On [this guys](https://www.howtoforge.com/how-to-install-wallabag-on- ubuntu-22-04/) post I get as far as 'Step 7 - Install SSL' but Let's Encrypt doesn't work as the example URL is not valid. It looks like tutorial is using internal host names but Let's Encrypt is going to the internet so it won't generate the SSL certificate. Some other posters have suggested just going to to the Git page however there's so many variables with this service and it's not clear what to use in each case and how NGINX is supposed to integrate. My use case would probably just be using Tailscale to access my services externally. Any ideas? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- arcadianarcadian · 2023-12-28 15:33 You're asking 2 different things. 1) Wallabag docker installation is quite straight-forward. version: "3" networks: rohan-proxy: external: true services: wallabag: image: wallabag/wallabag:latest container_name: wallabag restart: unless-stopped environment: - TZ=Europe/Berlin - SYMFONY__ENV__SERVER_NAME="read.example.com" - SYMFONY__ENV__DOMAIN_NAME=https://read.example.com - SYMFONY__ENV__MAILER_HOST=mail.example.com - SYMFONY__ENV__FROM_EMAIL="wallabag@example.com" - SYMFONY__ENV__MAILER_USER="" - SYMFONY__ENV__MAILER_PASSWORD="" - SYMFONY__ENV__FOSUSER_REGISTRATION=false - SYMFONY__ENV__FOSUSER_CONFIRMATION=false - SYMFONY__ENV__TWOFACTOR_AUTH=true - PUID=1000 - PGID=1000 volumes: - /opt/data/wallabag/data:/var/www/wallabag/data - /opt/data/wallabag/images:/var/www/wallabag/web/assets/images cap_add: - NET_ADMIN networks: - rohan-proxy ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Smittyuk · 2023-12-30 13:42 I'm happy to report that I've now got Wallabag working. I aborted the VM method I had linked my post and have instead got [this one](https://sterba.dev/posts/wallabag/) working through Portainer. I used the docker script as written then used nignx Proxy Manager through another Portainer container. Once I had set up the proxy I got this CORS issue where some fonts or stylesheets were not loading properly. To resolve this I added a custom configuration on nginx and we were good to go.
