Personal cloud storage + media server reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- H8MeSVK · 2023-12-28 08:33 Hey everyone, I would like to set up my own home server. I already got an older PC - i5-7600k, 16GB RAM, old GTX 660. It has some older 128GB SSD and I bought 2x2TB WD Reds. I would like to use it as Google photos/drive replacement, network storage, jellyfin, occasionally as a game server and in the future maybe to host a personal website. It would help me if you could point me into a right direction. I would probably use arch since I already use it on desktop and I am somehow familiar with it. I am thinking arch with docker containers for nextcloud and jellyfin? Would that be a good solution? What would I have to do to keep it secure if I would also want to access it from outside of my network? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- CleanCup1798 · 2023-12-28 08:49 If you want to keep your server secure don’t expose it to the internet. Otherwise VPN or tailscale. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- kmisterk · 2023-12-28 18:41 ## Post Removed Hey, H8MeSVK! Thanks for your submission on selfhosted.
