Need help with current self hosted project (Immich)

hi guys, I’m kind of new to this self hosting/network configuration.
Here is my current setup, I know it is inefficient but I’m hoping to
get some suggestions from the community here

What the current plan is :

Setting up Proxmox , running TrueNAS in the virtual environment and
via TrueNAS, I will run Immich through the TrueNAS apps. Planning to
run TrueNAS  not only for cloud backup and also other future apps etc.

What I got it currently working :
Successfully setup Proxmox with TrueNAS up running with Immich
successfully installed on TrueNAS apps.

Issue : I can connect to Immich via the local network address with all
functionalities fully working but I’m unable to use the Immich mobile
app. I suspect it might be me using the default ip provided by TrueNas
which is 172.0.0.1 etc. I’m not really well versed with networking, is
there a way to “connect” to the Immich mobile app when let’s say I’m
using my phone on data etc.

Currently I’m using Tailscale to connect my phone/other devices to
connect to my VM via external network but I’m not sure about how to
configure it in a way (The TrueNAS apps ip) to make it successfully
connect with the Immich mobile app itself.

Any suggestions/networking tutorials I could refer to, to make it work
will be greatly appreciated :)

I don’t run TrueNAS (I use OMV) but a few things: make sure you’re
including the port number (2283) in the app, use the Tailscale IP
address (100.x.x.x variation for me) so you can access it non-locally,
and verify you’re not using the loopback IP address (you wrote
172.0.0.1, but maybe you meant 127.0.0.1 which is localhost?).

I personally opted for installing Nginx proxy manager, configuring
that proxy as an exit node on Tailscale, and using Proxy Hosts to
simplify these connections (http://immich.home).
