Do you have a vulnerability reporting mechanism? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Fluffer_Wuffer · 2023-12-26 12:41 I appreciate this is new and it takes time to develop, then on top of that, you need to add blurb.. which takes more time. But to get an audience, you need to grab their attention. My advice is add details on what problems you were trying to solve, how it works, what it current does and does not do, future plans, resource requirements... and screenshots.. lots and lots of screenshot. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- lowercase-raging · 2023-12-26 16:15 Thank you for your advice, you can tell I have never promoted something before. I will take a lot of screenshots, delete this post, and create a new one with a lot more info. Thanks again. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ResearchTLDR · 2023-12-26 17:25 There are enough posts on this subreddit asking for alternatives to NextCloud that I think you could fill a niche here. NextCloud is generally the big all-in-one solution, but many look for alternatives because 1) NextCloud can be difficult to maintain or troubleshoot 2) They want to run some of the features on less powerful hardware like a Raspberry Pi 3) They had a bad experience with NextCloud crashing and want another option. These could be your selling points. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- lowercase-raging · 2023-12-26 18:40 Thank you, I will include these and quote you for the points, thanks! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- lowercase-raging · 2023-12-26 18:42 I have set it up now, thank your for letting me know about that. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- lowercase-raging · 2023-12-26 19:06 \# mCloud A simple file management system that securely stores your data, but without the clutter. \## Reasons you should use mCloud instead of Nextcloud 1. There is a simple setup. The only thing the script asks you for is your password for the admin account. 2. It is easy to run on low power devices such as a Raspberry Pi due to its small amount of code. 3. The user interface is very minimalist, only the stuff you need, not extra junk such as the chat feature. 4. More will be added soon such as: 1. Folders 2. Moving files 3. Different sorting options 4. An account page 5. Password changing 6. Adding users 7. Profile pictures 8. Sharing files across users 9. If you can think of something else that you might like, please submit a feature request here: https://github.com/beans-are-gross/mclo ud/issues/new?assignees=&labels=feature+request&projects=&template=fea ture-request.md&title= \## How it works: It is a PHP script that saves your file data in the "mcloud" folder in your root directory of your OS. It saves an index of the file in a MySQL database. Then pulls that data from the database and displays it.
