Docker on Rasberry Pi manifest error reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- new-at-networking · 2023-12-25 20:07 I just got a Rasberry Pi and installed Docker on it. I installed Portainer, works fine. Now, when I try installing other containers via the CLI, I get this error message: *no matching manifest for linux/arm/v8 in the manifest list entries* When I try installing in Portainer, I get a *No such image* error. What does this mean? Did I do something wrong? Thanks! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- LexSoup · 2023-12-25 20:43 Could you specify what image you are trying to run exactly? Just because it is docker doesn’t mean that your specific architecture is supported :). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- new-at-networking · 2023-12-25 20:58 I am having the issue in the CLI and Portainer with multiple containers, like: linuxserver/plex and jellyfin/jellyfin-server. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- LexSoup · 2023-12-25 21:44 Are you trying to setup a container with docker run or compose? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- new-at-networking · 2023-12-25 22:03 Docker run ---------------------------------------------------------------------- LexSoup · 2023-12-25 22:07 Could you provide me the whole run command that you are trying? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- new-at-networking · 2023-12-25 22:13 This is the command: *docker run jellyfin/jellyfin-server* This is the the output: *Unable to find image 'jellyfin/jellyfin-server:latest' locally* *docker: Error response from daemon: manifest for jellyfin/jellyfin- server:latest not found: manifest unknown: manifest unknown.* *See 'docker run --help'.* Thanks for helping! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- LexSoup · 2023-12-25 22:22 You don;t need jellyfin/jellyfin-server, you need jellyfin/jellyfin . So try docker run jellyfin/jellyfin also just doing a docker run with the image only is not enough. You'd be missing binds, ports and more. In you case you might be better of using docker compose. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- screenwasher · 2023-12-25 22:23 Check if your pi is running 32bit or 64bit os, and if your images have a matching version. Linuxserver and others no longer support 32bit. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- someguynamedlou · 2023-12-25 23:41 The error is pretty specific. It states it can’t find a build for arm64 (raspberry pi). Your easiest /most direct route is to pull the repo and build the image on the pi. This is a common problem since a lot of people don’t roll up images for the Raspberry pi or Apple Silicon architectures yet. After you clone the repo just run docker build -t Software-name:arm64 . (Where . Is the current directory that has the docker file in it)
