Nextcloud and I5-6500T?

Want to put Nextcloud on a Mini and wanted to know if the i5-6500T is
fine for my use. It will only be used to store my files,pictures and
documents.

That's plenty, it will run fine. Mine is on a VM sharing resources
with quite a few others and it has been solid.

I am running it on a mini PC too, which has a i3-6100T CPU,  and is
working like a charm

I am running on a celeron soc with 1.6ghz and 2 cores.
It runs together with databases, zabbix, other webapps, samba and co
and it is fine.

Would the i7-6700t be a major upgrade? The guy has the i5-6500t and
the i7-6700t.

The i7-6700t is 4c 8t vs. 4c 4t.  It also has a better base clock so
it is deffinitly much better.  I uses these and they are great.

OK. He wants $15 more for it and it has 16gb ram already installed.

Yeah, worth the 15 extra! The processor alone is about 55-60 on ebay.
I just pieced together a hp elitedesk g2 mini about 2 weeks ago and
got a 6700t for 58.
