Any good self hosted apps that work as a document storage? Would be
great if it has it's own iOS app and can be access through Tailscale.
Should have the functionality to open PDFs locally or through iOS app
to view things.

I'm thinking NextCloud but that also feels like a full fledged
solution, which I won't be making much use of other then document
storage.

Paperless is great, but has no mobile apps. If you really want to view
everything nicely from your phone I’d go with Nextcloud. You won’t
even notice it’s “fully-fledgness” if you don’t want to.

Paperless-ngx has mobile apps. I use the android one, it's really
nice. Has a great scan from camera function that autocrops the
document in the image. My only complaint is you can't create multipage
documents with it.

To get around this, I use GeniusScan to scan the multi page document,
then save it to a folder that's syncthing'd with my paperless consume
directory.

GeniusScan looks good. I'll have to give it a try next time I need a
multi page doc.
