What’s the best music CarPlay experience?

What iOS app gives the best experience for listening music with Apple
CarPlay regardless of the backend used?

I’m currently on Navidrome + play:Sub, the best I’ve tried so far, and
it works, but not 100% reliable, UX on carplay is seriously lacking
and some not-too-advanced features are missing.

I use Plexamp and it’s a pretty seamless experience. Convenient too
since I run PMS already for my media anyways.

I wasn’t impressed by most of the Navidrome options so ended up going
with Plexamp and it’s perfect.

Are you paying for PlexPass? Does it require PlexPass to get CarPlay
features?

CarPlay does not require PlexPass. It looks like most of the PlexPass
features are related to music recommendations, Home Screen
customization in the app, and equalization.

Lemme rephrase. Is there some crucial feature that’s paywalled behind
PlexPass making using the free version completely pointless?
