Self-hosted Pastebin alternative with links to download and run files reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ceorlnet · 2023-12-23 11:00 I am still a noob to self-hosting, reddit, so I hope this is not a stupid question. I am looking for a Pastebin alternative that I can self-host. I see there are many, such as Lenpaste, Hasty Paste, etc. I am looking for one that has password protected access to the frontend (I don't need users) and I can link to and download, and if a script, use something like "curl" to download and run them (as you can do on GitHub). Many thanks. Something I should have mentioned. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ArgoPanoptes · 2023-12-23 11:24 It does have multiple docker versions. https://github.com/PrivateBin/docker-nginx-fpm-alpine ---------------------------------------------------------------------- [deleted] · 2023-12-23 11:29 [deleted] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ceorlnet · 2023-12-23 11:30 u/ArgoPanoptes Thank you. I'll give it a try. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Thutex · 2023-12-23 11:31 like what has been said, privatebin is one of the better-known options. you can also check [https://github.com/cupcakearmy/cryptgeon](https:// github.com/cupcakearmy/cryptgeon) If you need the frontend to be protected, you can also just do that using something in front to protect the resource (either a selfhosted option, or if you're not yet ready for that, and are not selfhosting dns, you can consider dns hosting at cloudflare and using their zerotrust) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- tnt1232007 · 2023-12-23 12:58 microbin, my favorite one ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Raithmir · 2023-12-23 13:09 Another vote for microbin here. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- StCory · 2023-12-23 19:32 Love micro bin, very light weight to chuck on a pi ---------------------------------------------------------------------- gregec6 · 2023-12-23 19:36 I've made a clone of Lenpaste and uploaded it to [https://hub.docker.c om/r/ggodler/lenpaste](https://hub.docker.com/r/ggodler/lenpaste). You can check the demo here: [https://pastebin.hrcek.si](https://pastebin.hrcek.si). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Impossible-Check-684 · 2023-12-23 20:22 Not sure this would classify as "pastebin", but believe it does all you listed. https://github.com/filebrowser/filebrowser Simple to install: https://cloudtechtips.com/network/web-file-manager-file-browser-on- ubuntu/25/ Video below demonstrates most functionality, more so than their own docs: https://youtu.be/0dbi9FDKrzE?si=SFYYWk2eFOmMR170 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- BelugaBilliam · 2023-12-23 20:23 Thanks for the recommendation. Was going to use privatebin, but this supported files, and has tons of customization options. Love it! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- TearDrainer · 2023-12-23 23:42 [https://github.com/orhun/rustypaste](https://github.com/orhun/rustypa ste)
