MotionEye Alternatives? reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Due_Royal_2220 · 2023-12-23 10:50 Hi all, Can anyone suggest a good alternative to MotionEye / Motion? I've been battling with it for years and years, and its just too sensitive to tune, especially with the new camera I've just setup. Surely there is something better around now thats self hosted that can leverage GPU power to more accurately track objects moving, rather than just counting pixel changes? Thanks in advance 😊 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- _tuanson84uk_ · 2023-12-23 11:16 How about Blue Iris (premium) or Shinobi (open source)? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- CaffeinatedTech · 2023-12-23 12:13 frigate. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- BlackBadPinguin · 2023-12-23 13:30 frigate ---------------------------------------------------------------------- tylersprice · 2023-12-23 15:51 Zoneminder ---------------------------------------------------------------------- cavernerg · 2023-12-23 19:50 Motioneye was my choice because of local usb cam support. But I don't like it that much either. Still no other really did what motion did ---------------------------------------------------------------------- BIBIB2110 · 2023-12-24 09:07 I came from Motioneye and choosed Agent DVR: https://www.ispyconnect.com/download.aspx The free Version offers A LOT! By far the best decission I made. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- pwnamte · 2023-12-25 09:53 Can you selfhoste it? If i remember i had to set up account on their page to be able to have remote access... Which i didnt do and uinstalled it. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- pwnamte · 2023-12-25 09:59 I dont get it whay people always say frigate... Its CRAP. You dont have users you dont have good timeline, you dont have videos on timeline, it detects crap and it says its person.... And the stupidest of all you need some google crap and to fucking configure it you will have all grwy hair. Blue iris its ok but its not worth the money. I find very interesting Shinobi which im trying right now. And scrypted nvr which i didnt tested yet becouse its 40€ per year. Bu i think it might be worth it. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- BIBIB2110 · 2023-12-25 20:20 Sure. I am running it in a proxmox container accessable via a reverse proxy.
