Self-hosted app for audio/music files with cross-platform playback sync? reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- magnetopenguino · 2023-12-22 07:01 I'm looking for a self-hosted solution where I can store my own audio files, and have the playback sync between platforms (iOS and Mac, specifically). I already have a NAS setup which runs most of my services, and a Plex server. I tried out Plexamp, but based on my quick trial run, it treats all platforms as separate clients (which makes sense considering how Plex is designed for multiple users) - Meaning I can't transfer from listening on my phone to listening on my desktop. Are there any apps where I can pause the playback on my phone, and pick up on my desktop? Pocket Casts allows for uploading your own files, and the functionality of this is exactly what I want - but the upload limit is less than what I want. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ohv_ · 2023-12-22 07:18 If I am logged into my account on plexamp I can play the same song or Playlist that I was on... it pretty much works like Spotify.. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Digital_Voodoo · 2023-12-22 11:00 Can confirm. That's the way Plexamp works. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- arcadianarcadian · 2023-12-22 13:22 Logitech Media Server. You can even stream different music sources to players.
