Host via: Proxmox LXC or Home Assistant Addon? reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- BieJay · 2023-12-22 01:23 Hi guys, I got my new Proxmox installation running and inside set up already my supervised Home Assistant. Until today, I was running Adguard, Nginx-PM, Paperless-ngx etc. in HA as Addons. Now I could also set them up as an extra LXC and delete the addons. Does that make sense or should I keep the addons to run those services? What are dis-/advantages? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- tehnomad · 2023-12-22 06:29 I would run them as separate LXCs. The main advantage is if your HA goes down, you will still be able to access your other services. You can also backup each LXC separately. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Zanish · 2023-12-22 06:56 LXC makes it easier to test out other options, spin up/down just the services you want, also keep good separation of duties. I always think splitting into LXC/VMs is better.
