Feature like Dropbox's share link directly from W10 explorer in a self hosted app? reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- pewpewpostit · 2023-12-21 22:06 Is there an app I could take a look at that syncs local W10 folders and offers the share link feature? I've been looking at Filebrowser but that's only a filebrowser and doesn't sync with like Dropbox does does it? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- zfa · 2023-12-21 22:10 > but that's only a filebrowser and doesn't sync with like Dropbox does does it? Correct but I've run FileBrowser with Syncthing used to sync underlying dirs for a long time and it works really well. In my case I have shitty home upload speeds to a syncthing my 'sharing' Windows folder to my VPS and have FB run there for folk to access tuff via. Worked like a charm with no maintenance (unless I've broken it myself) for years. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- pewpewpostit · 2023-12-21 22:23 Thanks for the reply! So in your case you let Syncthing sync and then go in the filebrowser web ui to create a link? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- zfa · 2023-12-21 22:42 Yeah. TBH most stuff is just left in FB dirs and people have access to the whole lot, but I do sometimes use the 'create share' and send people direct links for ad-hoc files. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- pewpewpostit · 2023-12-21 22:43 Alright thanks, I'll look into that. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Fun-Development-7268 · 2023-12-22 09:41 Actually Nextcloud with the client app does this. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- quinyd · 2023-12-23 12:10 Both nextcloud and Seafile should be able to do this.
