Maker Management Platform reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- knoker · 2023-12-20 15:23 Hi guys, I would like to show you what I've been working on. Maker Management Platform is a self-hosted digital asset management system tuned for 3d printing and makers. The main idea is to allow us users who have a bunch of models lying around in some sort of organized file system to manage them as projects in a practical and centralized manner. [https://github.com/Maker-Management- Platform/docs](https://github.com/Maker-Management-Platform/docs) I'm looking for feedback, testers and discussion on what features to pursue next. Hopefully it will be of any use for some of you. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- panzagl · 2023-12-20 15:49 I've wanted to do something like this for awhile, I'll check it out. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- knoker · 2023-12-20 16:35 Please do, I'm open to feedback and help to develop :) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Haliphone · 2023-12-20 23:46 Do you plan any integration with mainsail or fluid? Looks really cool though, I'll grab it and try at the weekend. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- knoker · 2023-12-20 23:52 Hi, it integrates with klipper, so you can send files to a mainsail or fluid printer. As for integration in the mainsail UI, I haven't thought about that, but I'm up for discussion ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Haliphone · 2023-12-20 23:55 Cool ---------------------------------------------------------------------- naxhh · 2023-12-21 10:28 Oh! I have been thinking I could do with something like this. I noticed quite often models go offline and can't get them back so I have been storing them into folders into the nas. Will give it a try but some ideas from top of mind (maybe you have them already) \- Open in the slicer you want \- Import from URL (to import from the standard public pages) I may contribute a bit if I have time these holidays! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- knoker · 2023-12-21 11:28 Hi there, currently you can import from thingiverse, from my research a while ago no other platform had an API. As for open in slicer, from what I've seen in printables it shouldn't be hard to integrate with prusa slicer, I would have to research the other slicers, I'll be adding that feature to de todo list. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- knoker · 2023-12-21 11:53 It looks like prusa slicer only opens links from [Printables.com](https://Printables.com), seems fair as its their ecosystem, but it kinda sucks... I'll have to check if other slicers implement a similar functionality without that limitation... https://imgur.com/a/KZumgFj ---------------------------------------------------------------------- knoker · 2023-12-21 11:59 https://github.com/Maker-Management-Platform/mmp-ui/tree/28-implement- send-model-to-slicer ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Adam_Meshnet · 2023-12-21 15:10 This is super cool! Is there some sort of road map of features that you are looking to implement? I'd love a web-based slicer, with an absolutely minimal amount of settings that can be changed on the go and more configuration underneath. So that I could just send a .3MF, .STL file to the slicer, choose infill, supports, and material, and have it printed. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- knoker · 2023-12-21 16:06 Hi thanks a lot for the feedback. Tbh currently there is no solid roadmap as I would like some feedback and ideas, maybe do a poll with the community. The closest thing would be this board with all the issues of the projects https://github.com/orgs/Maker-Management- Platform/projects/1/views/1 . As for slicing... I remember I think cura had a command line interface for headless slicing, maybe integrating a working engine could be feasable. Open an issue with that feature request, join us on discord, maybe it happens if the community pulls that way.
