Problems saving Dashy config reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Sparkynerd · 2023-12-20 13:49 I'm running Dashy in a Proxmox LXC container. When I make changes to the dash and "Save to disk", the changes don't seem to save. If I refresh the browser or restart the container, the changes are gone. I have some things on my dash from when I first set it up, but trying to add new items and/or reconfiguring current items doesn't seem to work now. Is there something I am missing as far as editing / saving? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- New_d_pics · 2023-12-20 13:57 Same thing here, I think you're supposed to click the "rebuild the app" button everytime you make changes or something. I stuck with organizr till I decide to try it again ---------------------------------------------------------------------- SEND_NUKES_PLS · 2023-12-20 16:16 Dashy configuration procedure was cumbersome so I switched to Homepage. So much better! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- root_switch · 2023-12-21 05:34 I had these issues and got so annoyed I started looking for another dashboard. Landed on Homepage, never looking back. It’s way better than dashy IMO. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Sparkynerd · 2023-12-21 18:17 Thanks for the suggestion! I had Heimdall, switched to Dashy, as these were part of the Tteck Proxmox scripts. I'm not sure why i didn't try out Homepage, but I installed it yesterday and wont look back either. I configured most of my homelab and network services already, and its beautiful. I'm already familiar with YAML, so its been great so far. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Sparkynerd · 2023-12-21 18:18 Just switched yesterday and already have it setup better than Dashy was. Love it! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Sparkynerd · 2023-12-21 18:19 That worked, thanks! I just switched over to Homepage, and will decommission Dashy. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- root_switch · 2023-12-21 18:19 Awesome! I’ve tried heindall also and it was too minimal for me and required some CSS changes if you wanted anything decent. Homepage just gets the jobs done and it’s very easy to set up. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Sparkynerd · 2023-12-21 18:32 Exactly. So far, Homepage has been a good blend of "out of the box" widgets and functionality to scratch my itch. Now i'm curious about making my own widgets.
