If you want it not like that, you can look for 'Justified' layout galleries - which Immich does support. PhotoPrism is another amazing gallery (that I like way more than Photoprism, visually speaking), but its a dead project. I don't need editing, multiple user support nor mobile phone app. Used to use Photoprism for some time and it was ok, but few months ago switched to Immich. Why? Facial recognition of children is just bad in Photoprism, you can almost say it doesn't work at all. And as a father of three I have a lot of such photos, so it was deal breaker for me. I also don't like Photoprism more money-oriented approach, with premium features hidden behind monthly subscription, however even the free free version is pretty feature-rich and met most of my needs. However there are areas that Photoprism does better. With Immich you have an app for ios and android to back up your photos to the backend with a set and forget feature. It's more like a Google replacement (without all the sorting and edit features, yet!) and I love it for that.
