Nginx Proxy Manager external works, internal does not reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- calonmerc · 2023-12-19 14:58 I've been using Nginx Proxy Manager for about a year now, set up within an Unraid instance. I've had most of my services that I need externally available proxied and accessible within the network (LAN) and external to the network (WAN). Last week, something changed, unsure if an update or something else, and none of my proxy addresses work within the LAN. I've tried rebuilding them, even creating a fresh NPM install. Everything works externally, but not within my network. I've been searching for days to find a solution, but nothing has come of it. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- nik_h_75 · 2023-12-19 15:26 Sounds more like a reverse NAT issue. If your router doesn't support it - your sub-domain translations won't work inside the router. Not sure why it sudenly popped up. If (no) reverse NAT is the issue, I solved it with cytopia-bind docker container. I initially needed it because google WiFi didn't support reverse NAT, but at some point it got updated. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- calonmerc · 2023-12-19 16:14 That's what I thought (reverse NAT or loopback NAT), but it's worked properly since at least March (last date I can confirm, as that's when I rebuilt NPM most recently before yesterday). It's a Linksys MR7300 router, settings aren't extremely friendly for someone looking for advanced features. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- calonmerc · 2023-12-19 16:43 I believe something else is happening now, external still works... I added a rewrite rule to Adguard so my local network the addresses point directly to NPM, checking a `tracert` in terminal, correctly responds with the local IP address.... but nothing loads still. Trying a few different services, HA, basic HTML site, etc. All services internally I can reach via IP, but I travel with this laptop pretty frequently. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- calonmerc · 2023-12-20 19:56 Figured out a solution: turns out the docker container I was using was not respecting the config parameters for ports and was defaulting to 8080 and 4443 for the internal ports, which meant the Adguard rewrite was useless. Switched to the jc21 maintained docker and all is well. **Still not sure why it stopped working initially.**
