Selfhost blogging reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- linuxmel 路 2023-12-18 17:51 I've tried searching here for a selfhost blog for my personal use. Besides WordPress and Ghost, what would you recommend. I'm interested in it being docker based. Thanks for the suggestions! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- realorangeone 路 2023-12-18 18:19 Grav is also nice as a "Just get going" blog that you edit with a web UI. [https://github.com/awesome-selfhosted/awesome- selfhosted](https://github.com/awesome-selfhosted/awesome-selfhosted) has a few other suggestions. If you're happy doing it all in a repo, there's always static site generators: [https://jamstack.org/generators/](https://jamstack.org/generators/) If you'd rather build something more custom, there are things like Drupal or Wagtail (disclaimer: I work for the company who originally developed Wagtail). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- linuxmel 路 2023-12-18 18:51 Thanks! I'm going to check out Wagtail 馃榿. I forgot about Grav. Much appreciated! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- codeslikeaduck 路 2023-12-18 21:33 I use this [Hugo docker image](https://github.com/klakegg/docker- hugo), for my blog. I like it, it was fairly quick to get up and running, and there is a decent [selection of themes](https://themes.gohugo.io/). Though over time I've found myself wanting to customise it and then Hugo gets annoying. I would say Hugo is best if you are happy to run with a theme and not touch it too much. The [file structure ends up like this](https://github.com/mpdcampbell/blog/tree/main/blog), with a main config file, and all your blog posts in a "content" directory saved as markdown files. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Dry_Doctor_5658 路 2023-12-19 03:40 I chose grav BC I just needed a static page w/o dB, working great so far.
