Miniflux - Change RSS scraping frequency reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- tys203831 · 2023-12-18 15:16 I'm self-hosting miniflux as my RSS reader. I successfully hosted it, and now my next problem is to change the scraping frequency to 5 minutes instead of the default 1 hour. I've added POLLING\_FREQUENCY=1 in my environment variable of the docker-compose.yml file, but it seems not working. As the next check is still 1 hour later. https://preview.redd.it/fo4mjyj9l27c1.png?width=986&format=png&auto=we bp&s=ceb26cbd0314e99acf0639eb5b1c4d132104acfc Below is my docker-compose.yml: (Note: I used Traefik reverse proxy on an external networks mode, so the configuration for Traefik is not shown here) version: "3.7" services: miniflux: image: miniflux/miniflux:latest container_name: miniflux restart: always depends_on: miniflux-db: condition: service_healthy expose: - "8080" environment: - DATABASE_URL=postgres://${DATABASE_USER}:${DATABASE_PW}@miniflux- db/miniflux?sslmode=disable - RUN_MIGRATIONS=1 - CREATE_ADMIN=1 - ADMIN_USERNAME=${ADMIN_USERNAME} - ADMIN_PASSWORD=${ADMIN_PASSWORD} - POLLING_FREQUENCY=1 # in minutes, how frequent it scrapes - POLLING_SCHEDULER='entry_frequency' - LOG_LEVEL='debug' labels: - traefik.enable=true - traefik.http.routers.miniflux.rule=Host(`rss.${DOMAINNAME}`) - traefik.http.routers.miniflux.tls=true - traefik.http.routers.miniflux.tls.certresolver=letsencrypt - traefik.http.routers.miniflux.entrypoints=websecure # add authelia 2FA #- traefik.http.routers.miniflux.middlewares=authelia@docker networks: - proxy miniflux-db: image: postgres:alpine container_name: miniflux-db restart: always environment: - POSTGRES_USER=${DATABASE_USER} - POSTGRES_PASSWORD=${DATABASE_PW} volumes: - miniflux-db:/var/lib/postgresql/data healthcheck: test: ["CMD", "pg_isready", "-U", "miniflux"] interval: 10s start_period: 30s networks: - proxy volumes: miniflux-db: networks: proxy: external: true Hope for help. Thanks in advance. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Shoddy_Hunter2609 · 2023-12-18 15:31 have you turned down and up the container? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- tys203831 · 2023-12-18 15:46 Thanks so much. Just for your info, I removed POLLING_SCHEDULER='entry_frequency' from docker-compose.yml. Then, I used docker compose down and then docker compose up to redeploy the container. However, the next check is still 1 hour later ---------------------------------------------------------------------- tys203831 · 2023-12-18 15:48 Then, I tried to look into \`docker logs miniflux\` And here are the logs: `level=INFO msg="Skipping admin user creation because it already exists" username=` `level=INFO msg="Starting HTTP server" listen_address=0.0.0.0:8080` ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Lemimouth · 2023-12-19 18:51 Why do you want/need an update frequency of 1 minute ? Especially for Google News ? It's the best way to get banned from news sources. If you want to know if a plane crashed on your town, subscribe to local newspaper/alert system ---------------------------------------------------------------------- tys203831 · 2023-12-20 00:50 Well, it's just for testing purposes for time being.... Once I know it can be adjusted, I would probably switch back to 15 minutes or 30 minutes
